The Heavenly White Tiger Clan’s Leader swept the scene with a cold, calculating gaze, his eyes briefly lingering on Bai Ning before moving to Bai Xutao, who lay buried beneath a mountain of rubble and dust. Although Bai Xutao appeared to be a burned corpse, he was still alive.
Eventually, the Clan Leader returned to Yuan and spoke in an emotionless tone, "What are you trying to achieve here?"
Yuan braced for the Clan Leader to erupt in fury, certain he would attack in a blind rage over the devastation to his clan. But to his surprise, the Clan Leader remained unnervingly calm.
"I have two objectives here," Yuan said calmly. "First, to deal with Bai Xutao, who harmed my companion. And second, to acquire your Ancient Seal."
At the mention of the Ancient Seal, the Clan Leader’s eyes narrowed, his expression betraying nothing. However, the elders couldn’t hold back, their voices erupting in shock. "How does he know about the Ancient Seal?!"
The Clan Leader whipped his gaze toward the elder who had spoken, his eyes brimming with deadly intent.
"Shit!" The elder cursed under his breath, immediately clamping his hand over his mouth as he realized his grave mistake.
"There’s no use trying to hide it. I know you have it," Yuan said.
"Let’s assume we do have it, for the sake of this conversation," the Clan Leader said, his tone laced with mockery. "Do you really expect us to simply hand it over to you, after everything you’ve done here?"
Yuan paused for a moment, then casually gestured toward Bai Xutao. In an instant, Bai Xutao’s body was yanked from the rubble, soaring toward Yuan as though an invisible force were pulling him.
Seeing this, the Clan Leader raised his hand, instantly halting Yuan’s attempt to seize Bai Xutao with an unseen force.
"You’re quite foolish if you think you can act with impunity in my presence," the Clan Leader said coldly.
Yuan smiled, his tone unruffled. "It was worth a try. That said, I could kill him at any moment, and there’s nothing you can do to stop it unless you hand over the Ancient Seal."
"An empty threat." The Clan Leader did not believe Yuan for a moment.
"I don’t usually resort to threats," Yuan said with a sigh, "but your Heavenly White Tiger Clan has fallen so low that I simply don’t care anymore. If the Immortal Monarch were here, he’d be furious at how you’ve been running things."
"Killing your own children simply because their bloodline doesn’t meet your standards or they fail a trial? Even barbarians wouldn’t stoop so low."
The Clan Leader sneered. "Who are you to judge how our family operates? Unless you’re our ancestor, you have no right to speak on it."
"I may not be your ancestor, but I do have a connection with him."
"Hahaha!" The Clan Leader suddenly laughed out loud, his tone filled with mockery.
"Alright, enough of this farce. I don’t know who you are or why you’re truly here, but don’t think you’ll get out of here alive today."
