Breaking Free, Loving Again -The Flash Marriage with Mr. CEO novel Chapter 660

Chapter 660: Sorry situation.

Selene stared at Arwen and smiled. "Of course, I do. After all, why else will you let me stay? It’s because you can see that what I am saying is the truth." She then paused and said, "But Arwen, I think you should reconsider it."

Arwen arched her brows at her and heard her continue. "Accepting what doesn’t belong to you is not good. Be it Aiden or the gifts he and Grandpa Winslow have given you."

"Ms. Martin," Arwen interrupted, "If I were you, I would have reconsidered things for myself instead of suggesting to others."

"What do you mean?" Selene asked, her brows tugging in a frown. "Are you suggesting that you intend to go back on your words now?"

"I don’t go back on my words, Ms. Martin," Arwen said with a smile that could pierce one’s soul. "But you shouldn’t forget your position. I might have let go of your previous offence, but I won’t make it my habit. So, remember who you are the next time you talk. Don’t forget the identity you hold in this house."

"You are a guest, and a guest is liked when they are kind and polite." Her words were no longer just a warning; it was a threat, and the sharpness in Arwen’s gaze made sure that it was delivered well. "Now, I am getting late. I will leave first. You can take your time."

And with that, she turned and descended down the steps.

Selene’s watched her. Her fingers clenched. "No, Arwen. I won’t give you the chance to go back on your words. You will leave Aiden to me, and I will make sure you do it." Muttering that under her breath, she stared at Arwen crossing the living hall, only to exit the house.

She then turned and walked away by herself.

Behind her, Mr. Jones stood and watched. Morgan’s words spiralled back to his thoughts, and he shook his head. Maybe he was worrying for nothing.

Meanwhile,

Arwen had already left the company in her car. She had gotten late, and it was already close to afternoon. Fortunately, there was nothing urgent that required her in the first half of the work hours.

As Alfred drove, she took the time to dial a number. Ryan’s number.

She hadn’t thought she would reach Ryan out, but after confronting Aura yesterday, she realized there were a few answers that she would only get from him. So, without hesitating for longer, she dialled his number.

The rings went through a few times before it was finally answered.

"Arwen!" he reacted even before she could speak. There was a slight desperation in his tone that Arwen didn’t miss.

She paused for a second, responding, "Yes, it’s me."

"You called?" Ryan asked as though he couldn’t trust it. But then the next second, he composed himself and spoke again, "I mean, you are calling me, Arwen? Did something happen?"

"Can we meet?" she asked straight away without beating around the bush. "Do you have time today? If not, I am fine with even tomorrow. There is something I need to ask you and —"

"I have time today. Let’s meet," Ryan responded, not letting her explain more.

When she reached her office, Mia followed to brief her about the urgent things on her schedule. 𝑓𝑟𝑒𝘦𝓌𝑒𝑏𝑛𝑜𝘷𝑒𝘭.𝒸𝘰𝑚
