Billionaire's Bounty Cost Of Love And Revenge novel Chapter 121

Chapter 121

Marcus POV

I sat alone in the suite in my office. It had become my own bedroom, as I spent most of my time here. The silence was almost suffocating It felt too quiet, almost as if the entire world had paused around me.

My finger’s drummed nervously against the edge of my bed. My mind kept returning to the nightclub, to the moment I saw Taylor.

Her eyes had locked onto mine, cold, calculating, as if she knew everything about me in an instant. I always thought she was audacious to walk up to me, but I didn’t give it much thought.

And the men she was hanging around withthey didn’t just look dangerous; they were dangerous men. Most of them were linked with the mafia.

I leaned back in the chair, rubbing my hand over my face. The tension in my chest was unbearable. This wasn’t just about a woman with a silly crush on my brother. This was bigger. This was darker. And, most importantly, it involved my little brother, Asher.

Normally, I’d take my time to strategize, to think things through, but tonight was different. My instincts were screaming at me. I couldn’t wait for all the pieces to fall into place. I couldn’t try to rationalize the plan. Ivy was in danger. I had to act now.

I picked up my phone, staring at it for a moment before dialing the number of a contact I knew I could trust. He wasn’t just someone who could get things done; he was someone who understood the depths of the world I was about to step into.

He’d helped me out of sticky situations before, and I had no doubt he’d be my best shot at getting answers.

The phone rang twice before the familiar voice on the other end spoke.

Marcus,” the man greeted, his tone low and rough. What’s going on?

I didn’t waste any time with pleasantries. I need you to find out everything you can about a woman named Taylor. I’ll send her pictures across. I saw her at a nightclub tonight with a group of men. They were dangerous, mafia type. I need to know who they are, where they’re from, and who they’re working

for.

There was a pause on the other end as the man processed the request. Mafia, huh? You sure you want to get involved in that mess? They don’t play by the rules.

I don’t have a choice,I replied quickly, my jaw tightening. My brother’s involved, and I need to know everything about these people. Who they are, who they’re connected to. I need to know what we’re dealing with here.” Anything that would help me find out who these men were and their relationship with Taylor.

The man let out a long breath. Alright. I’ll see what I can dig up. But this isn’t going to be quick. You know that.

I don’t have time,” I said firmly, my tone leaving no room for negotiation. I need this information now.

Another brief silence passed before he spoke again. Fine. I’ll ask around, get some intel. If I find anything, I’ll pass it along.

Good,I said, the word clipped. When you find something, arrange a meeting. I’ll handle the rest.My grip on the phone tightened, and I knew I was about to cross a line I couldn’t come back from. But I had no choice. I had to do whatever it took to protect Asher, to protect the one he loved, Ivy.

I’ll get to work. But you know how messy this can get. Be careful,he warned.

I’ll be careful,I said, my voice low and steady. But this is bigger than I thought. I’m not backing down.

The call ended, and for a moment, I just stared at the phone, the screen glowing dimly in the dark room. I had made the call. There was no turning back now. Ivy’s life was at risk, and I wasn’t going to sit idly by while that danger loomed over her.

1 exhaled slowly, shaking off the creeping unease. I couldn’t afford to secondguess myself. I had to act. I had already called in favors, and now I just had

to wait for the results. I couldn’t let fear take over. Not now.

Chapter 121

I picked up a photo of Asher, Janine, and me that sat on the edge of the desk. I had kept a copy of it with me everywhere, of course away from their prying eyes. I stared at the younger version of him with that carefree smile, the light in his eyes that I hadn’t seen in years.

It felt like a lifetime ago. We’d both changed, had to grow up faster than we ever should have, and grown further apart with each passing year. But Ashers still needed me. He always had. And I would do whatever it took to protect him.

I set the photo down gently, the weight of my decision settling into my bones. I knew what I was about to do was dangerous. But there was no other choice. I loved my brother, and that meant I had to take the risk.

I glanced at the phone again, knowing I had done all I could for now. The next move was out of my hands. But I would be ready. The moment I got the information, I would act. No hesitation. No fear.

For just a second, a flicker of doubt crossed my mind. Was this the right move? Was I putting myself and Asher in too deep?

What would happen to Ivy if I made the wrong move? But I pushed it aside. There was no time for doubt.

I turned away from the desk and walked over to the window, looking out at the city below. The city was quiet, almost peaceful. But inside, I was anything but. I had crossed the point of no return.

There was no going back. All I could do now was wait and prepare for what was coming.

And when the time came, I would be ready.
