Chapter 59
She had a bandage wrapped around her forehead, and from start to finish, she only said three things to him.
“What were you guys doing!”
“What happened?”
And when he left, she called out that one word-“Max.”
Even the first two sentences weren’t just for him.
For some reason, he suddenly missed her a little.
She fell down the stairs, I didn’t know how she was.
Frowned a little.
Maxwell didn’t know what was wrong with him.
I kept thinking about Stephanie today.
What flashed through my mind was that masked woman.
Maybe it was because of that woman.
Let him remember the bright, always–crying–and–laughing Stephanie from before.
“Knock knock knock.”
The Bentley window was knocked on, Maxwell looked up and saw Roxanne standing outside the window.

“Max!”
Roxanne opened the car door and sat next to him.
Subconsciously, Maxwell put away his phone.
Roxanne just took a quick look, like she didn’t see anything, but when she turned to close the car door, there was a flash of hatred in her eyes.
When she turned back, Roxanne already had a smile on her face.
She asked with concern, “Did I trouble Max to pick me up? Has he been waiting long?”
“That’s fine,” Maxwell replied.
“That’s good,” Roxanne said with a smile.
The driver started the car and drove the two of them through the rain in the city.
Roxanne was talking about some funny things that happened during the recording, and Maxwell was half–listening.
For some reason, what kept popping up in his mind was what the masked woman said to him-“You should go ask her what she said to me.”
“…Max, Max?” Roxanne’s voice came.
Maxwell finally snapped out of it.
He glanced at Roxanne, signaling that something was up.
“Max, what were you thinking about?” Roxanne asked. “I saw you spaced out for a long time.”
Maxwell looked at Roxanne’s face.

Pale, sickly, looked like someone you’d feel sorry for
In the end, he still spoke up: “What did you say to Serena today?”
While Maxwell was asking Roxanne in the Bentley, on the other side.
As the hype for “Yesterday Once More‘ live sound quality” went up, Roxanne’s marketing team…
Kenneth frowned at the label, feeling unsure.
Then he texted Roxanne and told her about it.
He said, “At first we tried to report them to get them muted, but they were obviously experienced and got someone else to hype it up, so a lot of people saw it right away. If we reported and muted them again at that point, it would just look too obvious. Ms. Gregg, what do you think is the best way to handle this? Here are a few options I came up with…”
Their team was always like this, they would give Roxanne some options, and Roxanne would make the final decision.
After a while, Roxanne picked a plan.
At the same time, on the other side.
Logan looked on with satisfaction as the “Yesterday Once More‘ live sound quality” tag got more popular.
Covering your mouth only worked when just a few people were talking, but what if a bunch of people started talking all at once?
Seeing that the gossiping netizens already got involved, Logan was waiting to clear his name.
But right at that moment, there were different voices-

“Said a whole bunch, but didn’t see any real proof.”
“Yeah, you needed evidence to prove anything first. These days, it was really cheap to spread rumors.”
“Yeah, you could tell right away they were a die–hard Serena fan, fighting with ‘A Glimmer of Love‘ for the top spot. They just had to make ‘Yesterday Once More‘ beat ‘A Glimmer of Love.‘ So annoying.”
“Ten haters weren’t as bad as one crazy fan. Did Serena know you did this?”
“Upstairs, maybe this was done by Serena’s marketing team. Didn’t you see there were signs of manipulation under this tag?”
“Yeah, yeah, our Roxie didn’t fight or compete. She joined the music show just to give strength to more people suffering from illness. She didn’t do anything, but people still tried to suppress her with press releases.”
“The person who did this had no heart at all, our Roxie wasn’t even a contestant, and still got treated like this, it’s just too awful!”

“The Ethereal Voice” was already pretty popular, and with the hype from Roxanne’s death countdown, a bunch of people showed up here right away.
And because people already felt sorry for Roxanne, plus her actions seemed positive for marketing, and there really wasn’t any video from the scene, most people stood by Roxanne.
Things got to this point and were already totally separate from Logan’s original demands.
Logan didn’t even mention Roxanne at all in the beginning.
