No Remarriage for Us: Stay Away
Chapter 466 She Defied The Odds
Unconsciously, Lenora's expression softened, a faint smile playing at the corners of her lips as her eyes brightened with a flicker of joy. Her entire being was alight with happiness.

Taking the test strip, she returned to the doctor's office for a follow-up.

The doctor glanced at the test strip before looking up at her, smiling. “Congratulations.”

“Thank you,” Lenora said with a smile.

She could feel the transformation within her, from the anxious woman who had entered the consultation to a happy, expecting mother. Even the slight pain in her abdomen seemed to fade, no longer as unbearable as before.

“Go get a blood test and an ultrasound. After that, come back and I'll prescribe you some medication.”

“All right.”

“Wait, did you come here by yourself?”

“No.”

The driver came with her.

“It's best if you have someone with you,” the doctor advised. “Take a seat and get plenty of rest for now.”

“I understand. Thank you.”

Lenora stepped out the door and made a call to her driver, instructing him to queue up for her. Meanwhile, she took a seat at the side, waiting for her turn.

The driver, aware of Lenora and Zachary's situation, was pleased upon learning that Lenora was pregnant again.

Two hours later, Lenora returned to the consultation room wearing a complicated expression, holding the report in her hand.

Lenora had initially believed she had conceived this child while in Fairlake. However, the test results indicated she was already fourteen weeks pregnant—well over three months. This meant she must have been pregnant before she left for Fairlake. Reflecting on the timeline, it seemed to trace back to that day when Jasmine had drugged her.

She had lost all memory of what happened, yet later, Zachary had mentioned he hadn't been intimate with her. Although the chances of pregnancy under such circumstances were slim, could she really be the one to defy such odds?

Lenora had mixed feelings.

After reviewing the examination results, the doctor handed her prescriptions and advised, “It appears you've had a fall recently, correct? The fetus is in a delicate state, so you must be extra cautious moving forward. Your physical condition isn't typical, and there is a higher risk of miscarriage. It's essential to maintain a positive and calm mindset during your pregnancy. Also, avoid intercourse and take extra care in the later stages.”

“I'll be careful,” Lenora murmured, her lips pressing into a firm line. Deep within her heart, she made a silent vow—to protect this child at all costs, ensuring they would have the chance to experience the world for themselves.

“All right, go get the medicine and come back to me. I'll tell you how to take it.”

“Okay, thank you.”

Lenora took the doctor's advice to heart. She handed her health insurance card to the driver, asking him to take care of the payment and fetch the medicine. Meanwhile, she found herself a spot to sit down by the entrance of the consultation room.

In addition to the progesterone and prenatal supplements, the doctor also prescribed an ointment for her external injuries.

After leaving the hospital, Lenora glanced at the time—it was already five in the afternoon. She instructed the driver to head straight to the kindergarten to pick up Harrietta.

As soon as Harrietta got in the car, she eagerly began recounting her day at school. Once she finished, the girl blinked her big, round eyes at Lenora, her curiosity piqued. “Aunt Lenora, did something good happen to you today?” she asked.

Lenora was taken aback by her question. Smiling, she asked, “How did you know?”

“You look quite different today. You're glowing,” Harrietta replied.

Lenora was taken aback by the girl's perceptiveness. A soft smile spread across her face as she gently ruffled Harrietta's hair. “I'm pregnant.”

“Pregnant?”

“Yes. I have a little baby in my tummy,” said Lenora, taking Harrietta's small hand and placing it on her stomach.

Harrietta frowned. “Why can't I feel anything?”

“The baby's still tiny now. But they will slowly grow in the future,” Lenora explained.

Harrietta nodded slowly, her gaze shifting to Lenora's belly, though she didn't speak any further. The car fell into an unexpected silence.

“Hattie, what's wrong?” Lenora asked gently, noticing the girl's silence and sensing her unease.

Harrietta pursed her lips, her big round eyes now filled with a touch of concern as she looked up at Lenora. With careful hesitation, she finally spoke. “Aunt Lenora, after the baby is born, will you and Uncle Zachary send me to live with Grandma?”

Although Grandma is kind to me, I like Uncle Zachary and Aunt Lenora more. I don't want to part with them.

The phone rang for over twenty seconds, and just as it was about to go to voicemail, it was finally picked up.

“Hello? Nora?” Zachary's deep, husky voice came from the other end of the line.

“Zachary, where are you? Why haven't you returned yet?”

“I'm at the Fuller residence.”

Lenora was relieved. Oh... then there's nothing to worry about.

“When are you coming back? Are you going to have dinner?”

“No. You go ahead and eat with Hattie. Don't worry about me.”

“Okay. Come back early.”

“Mmm.”

After ending the call, Lenora placed her phone on the table.

Zachary often had lunch at the Fuller residence, but dinner there was a rare occurrence.

However, this time was an exception. Tamara must be at the Fuller residence too, eager to spend time with her son. It was a perfect opportunity for mother and son to connect.

While Lenora didn't particularly favor Tamara, she wouldn't stop Zachary from spending time with her.

To Lenora's surprise, around nine in the evening, Sylvia, one of the housekeepers at the Fuller residence, called her. She explained that Zachary had drunk a little too much at dinner and would be staying the night at the Fuller residence instead of coming home.

Lenora was taken aback, yet she didn't dwell on it.

Meanwhile, at the Fuller residence, Sylvia hung up the phone, casting a glance at Zachary who was sitting on the single-seater couch. “I've relayed the message to Ms. Wilkin.”

Zachary remained still, his elbow resting on his knee, his expression dark and brooding. He hung his head in frustration, a deep sense of dejection weighing heavily on him.

How am I supposed to face Nora?
