No longer a pushover (Noelle and Cedric) novel Chapter 595

Noelle felt a slight sense of satisfaction seeing Cedric's dark expression. She turned and walked toward the elevator without another word.

Soon, she heard steady footsteps following her, and she did not even need to look to know who it was. The elevator doors opened, and she stepped inside. From the corner of her eye, she saw Cedric enter as well, standing right next to her.

They stood close, with just a fist's distance between them. The elevator was silent, and Noelle glanced up at the reflection in the doors, accidentally meeting Cedric's intense gaze. She quickly looked away.

Noelle could still feel his eyes on her, but she refused to meet his stare. Cedric watched her with a mix of frustration and helplessness, his gaze lingering on her delicate profile. He had not slept well these past few days, haunted by the memory of her angry face when she broke up with him.

He had never felt so desperate in his life, yet he could not do anything to change her mind. Before he could figure out what to say, the elevator doors opened, and Noelle walked out without looking back.

Cedric, who was annoyed and frustrated, hurried after her. He said, "Wait, let me drive you back."

"No need, Mr. Greene. There are plenty of cabs around. It's convenient," Noelle replied, her tone and expression distant as she turned to face him.

Cedric felt a pang of frustration and took a deep breath. He insisted, "I need to talk to you."

"I think we've said everything there is to say," Noelle shot back, turning to leave. But Cedric pulled her back, and she stumbled into his arms.

She tried to struggle, but his grip was firm. She gritted her teeth and hissed, "Cedric!"

"I'm here," he replied calmly.

"You're shameless," Noelle muttered.

Cedric did not respond. Shameless or not, he would rather be called that than let her walk away. Just then, a luxury car pulled beside them, and the window rolled down.

"Ms. Liddell," a voice called out.
