Never Again Yours (Isadora and Magnus) novel Chapter 502

Isadora couldn’t help herself—she leaned across the center console and poked Victor’s sculpted arm. “Aren’t we going home?” she asked.

Victor glanced at her sideways, his gaze unreadable. Instead of answering, he switched hands on the steering wheel and caught one of her restless hands in his own. His warm fingers brushed lightly over her ring finger, their touch gentle but insistent.

“We’re making a stop first,” he said.

She arched an eyebrow. “Where to?”

“You’ll see soon enough.”

The Ferrari took a smooth turn, the engine humming as they drove straight down the road until, suddenly, they pulled up in front of City Hall.

When Isadora saw the address, she froze, her mind taking a few long seconds to catch up.

To everyone else, she and Victor were already a married couple—after all, they even had a child. But the truth was, they’d never made it official; they’d never signed a marriage certificate. Isadora had nearly forgotten about it herself.

Victor parked the car and turned to face her, his dark eyes locking onto hers. There was something intense in his look, the kind of depth that made her heart stutter.

Her own eyes were clear and bright, lashes fluttering like butterflies as she blinked at him.

“We’re here,” Victor said, his deep voice carrying a note of barely concealed nerves.

Isadora twisted her hands together. When she finally spoke, her voice was barely more than a whisper. “I didn’t bring any ID.”

Victor pressed a button on the dashboard, popping open a hidden compartment. He pulled out their documents, his gaze steady and intent.

“I have everything,” he said, his tone low and persuasive.
