Banjo blocked the scorching energy with one hand, which thrilled Power. He looked at Banjo’s hand and saw that it was starting to frost over. If the energy within Power was a flame that could incinerate everything, then the force flowing within Banjo was an intense, merciless cold.

Power fired several more beams, but Banjo neutralized every one. It seemed their powers canceled each other out. With every exchanged blow, Power grew more excited. For the first time, he felt a sense of anticipation toward a battle.

The air around Power froze solid with each strike. At the same time, he unleashed the blazing energy within him. Their powers collided, and at the boundary of their true energy, the space itself seemed to distort.
