My Substitute CEO Bride (Nash Calicraft) novel Chapter 2368

Astin's father was once the most prestigious and powerful man in Grenford. He was a living legend, known for his bravery and strength. He had faced countless dangers and came out victorious.

However, as time passed, he eventually set aside his glory and became a regular husband and father.

Despite his ordinary role as a father, he was still a remarkable man. Yet, due to a single moment of misjudgment, he became a figure of disdain and scorn among the people.

The Demon Huntsmen was once a renowned organization of martial artists in Grenford. They were known to hunt demons to enhance their strength. Astin's father, Astorus Cole, was a key member of this organization.

Unfortunately, fate dealt him a cruel hand. During a mission to hunt down the demon king 'Five', Astorus' entire team unknowingly fell to Five's demonic power, which took root within their bodies. Though they believed they had defeated Five, the demon king had continued to exist within them in a different form.

They went on with their lives, seemingly unaffected at first. As time went on, however, some members of the team began to grow restless and eventually transformed into demons.

However, Astorus remained unaffected, and the reason for that was because the demonic power within him had been transferred to his unborn child, Astin, during the mission.

This transfer left Astorus untouched, but it also meant that the rest of the team had to be sacrificed to eliminate Five once and for all as the demon king's presence would otherwise continue to spawn more demons.

After Astin was born, Astorus quickly realized the horrifying truth, that he had unintentionally passed the demonic power to his son. This realization shattered Astorus' heart, leaving him in deep despair.

He was faced with two agonizing choices. The first was to eliminate his son for the greater good. Second, he could hide his child, but in doing so, he would risk undoing nearly a century of efforts by their organization to rid the world of demons.

In the end, Astorus could not bring himself to harm his own son. His love and selfishness drove him to become a traitor to the organization.

Astorus had no choice but to knock his wife unconscious and flee with the child in his arms. It had been raining hard that day.

Astorus knew that the organization would soon catch up to him and made another grave mistakeβ€”he chose to fight them to the death.

The leader of the team pursuing him was Zeto, Zenon's older brother. Zeto had tried countless times to persuade Astorus to abandon his personal feelings, but how could that ever be an easy thing to do?

Astorus hid Astin in a cave and then absorbed the overflowing demonic power from his son into himself. This was the reason Astin had never been discoveredβ€”Astorus had been absorbing the excess demonic power from his son non-stop.

However, he could only absorb the overflow, which was just enough to prevent others from noticing. He soon discovered that the demon had completely fused with his son. If he were to absorb all of the demonic power, his son would die.
