Zirconia darted once more between the various gods. She knew well enough that the old man in the white robe before her was the leader of the Western world. She was not foolish enough to attack him directly.
In a mere instant, she had taken down many of the gods of the West before charging at the old man again. Yet with just a glance, the old man transported Zirconia once more.
This time, she found herself back in the Eastern god realm. As expected, the gods she had previously slain had already been revived.
Nia realized they were merely trying to exhaust her energy because even gods could run out of true energy. However, now that she had become stronger than the rulers themselves, her demand for true energy had increased significantly.
The divine power she had absorbed from those gods was just a drop in the ocean.
She turned her gaze back to Sycamore, who remained as calm and composed as ever. It was no surprise. After all, this attack was not really an attack in Sycamore's eyes. He had likely played this scenario out in his mind a thousand, perhaps even 10,000 times.
Now, it felt more like she was being toyed with by the two supreme rulers of the god realms, which only fueled her anger.
"Old fool! You're asking for death!" Zirconia screamed as she lunged directly at Sycamore, but the gods once again blocked her path. She swiftly dealt with them, only to be transported back to the Western world.
The same process repeated. After clearing out the gods in the Western god realm, she charged at the old man in white, only to be sent back to the Eastern god realm. Yet this time, there seemed to be a slight change.
The faces of the gods before her now showed fear. Although they had been revived, the excruciating pain they had experienced reminded them of a long-forgotten emotionβfear.
They were terrified of Zirconia.
Yes, once, the gods had destroyed her. She had claimed innocence. Yet now she, too, had destroyed many. They were innocent as well.
During her trial in the heavenly court, she had felt little emotion even as the verdict was handed down. Everything had seemed so justified.
Yet, why had she sought revenge? Only now did she remember.
When she descended to the mortal world, a flood of emotions had overwhelmed herβremorse, anger. Then, she went to the Netherworld and met Ruin, awakening another emotion buried deep within herβa betrayal from a loved one.
As she pondered this, she was suddenly transported again. This time, she found herself high above Drakonia.
