He nodded, a faint smile appearing on his usually indifferent face. "Would you like some water?"
I nodded. "My throat hurts!"
He adjusted his position and sat on the edge of the bed. He helped me up and let me lean on him.
I frowned and tried to scoot away from him, but his voice came again, cold and indifferent. "You're sick. Don't overthink it!"
I was stunned for a moment and didn't know how to respond, so I let him lead me. He placed the glass of water on my mouth, motioning me to drink.
I took a few sips, and my throat instantly felt better. "Thank you!"
He put the glass down and gently put me back to bed.
His eyes fell on me as he asked, "Do you want to eat something?"
I shook my head. "I'm not hungry!"
He raised his eyebrows, but sat quietly beside me.
There were so many questions on my mind. I couldn't help but ask, "Mr. Milton, why are you here? Do you know Kaleb?"
He looked at me calmly and said, "Well, this is the private hospital of the Milton family."
"The Milton family?" I asked incredulously, "Is it the Milton family from Jarold City, or?"
He raised his eyebrows and said, "The same Milton family that saved your life!"
I looked at him, stunned. "Why did you save me?"
"No reason!" he replied sharply. "Plus, I didn't intend to save you. It was just convenient."
I frowned and said, "But you guys came to Monsa to look for me. That wasn't easy!"
He flashed a handsome grin. This man was a sight for sore eyes, and he looked particularly enchanting when he smiled. "Have you forgotten what you've promised me in Asherton?" he asked.
I couldn't help but look at him, puzzled. I had forgotten what I promised.
Upon seeing the look on my face, he said, "It wasn't special or anything like that. I just like to make sure people keep to their promises. Since you promised me, naturally, I'd come for you."
I couldn't fall asleep, so I simply stayed awake, leaning myself against the bed.
However, as I'd moved a little too hard, the infusion bottle fell to the ground and smashed into pieces.
Westin had probably heard the noise, so he barged in.
He couldn't help but frown upon seeing the mess on the ground. Then, he turned around and walked out. He returned soon after.
He had brought a nurse with him.
After the nurse hung up the new infusion bottle, she left after saying a few words in broken English.
Westin glanced at me, and then turned around, preparing to leave.
I immediately called out after him. "Mr. Westin!"
He turned back to me, his tone polite, "Miss Reid, is there anything you need?"
I took a moment before I said, "I would like to know what happened between Hendrix and Kaleb."
