My Pretty Sweetheart (Arianna) novel Chapter 749

He was stating a fact with concern in his voice.

"I wasn't hungry!" I replied. My body had stiffened up after he broke the silence between us.

His eyes were unreadable as he said, "Arianna, I'm a man. When I saw him kiss you, I felt horrible and angry. You can't blame me for that."

He was talking about what had happened the night before.

I nodded and said nothing.

He inched closer and buried his head under my neck. His breathing made it sound as if he was in pain.

I felt his fingers on my back, comforting me. I gradually relaxed my body and asked, "What did he say to you at Freya's wedding?"

I noticed that his breathing paused. I continued, "If it's about the child, you can ask me anything."

"It's okay, sweetheart." He looked up and kissed me on the lips. He mumbled, "It's all in the past. I'll be fine as long as we're fine."

He did not want me to say anymore because it would only cause more pain.

I leaned against his chest and listened to his

heartbeat. I slept very well that night.

Hendrix was hardly a romantic. When I woke up the next day, there were many large bellflowers beside the bed. The faint fragrance of flowers wafted in the air, instilling joy within me.

There was a card amongst the flowers that Hendrix had left me. It said, "Eat well. Wait for me to come home tonight."

Home was where the heart was.

I smiled faintly and put the card aside. After I washed up, I made my way downstairs. Fiona was in a chirpy mood.

Breakfast was ready, but I had no appetite. However, I knew that if I didn't eat, he would call Fiona and find out.

I ate a little so as to not worry them.

There were all kinds of flowers and plants in Nerissa's garden, along with some fruits and vegetables in the backyard.

It was late autumn now. Many of the flowers in the garden were buried by the heavy snow.

When I arrived, Nerissa was tidying up the flowers and plants that had been buried under the snow.

I glanced at her, taking off my jacket. Then, I found a sickle and began to help her clean up.

Nerissa was a little surprised when she saw me. She wasn't exactly happy to see me. She asked, "What are you doing here?"

I lowered my head as I cleaned the weeds. I felt sorry for the crushed chrysanthemums. These chrysanthemums only bloomed in the winter. They would bloom and last for a long time if they were in Ucrebury.

However, winter came early in Jarold City. The snow inevitably crushed the flowers in its stead.

"Hendrix told me you haven't been feeling well these days, so I came to visit you," We knew that we were not happy to see each other, so there was no need for me to suck up to her.

She snorted and continued cleaning her own yard with her head down.
