My Pretty Sweetheart (Arianna) novel Chapter 745

After feeling this sandalwood box back in my hands again, I could not help but sigh. I looked at the keyhole and felt the design was a little strange. "This keyhole looks unique."

She looked at it and nodded, "I heard from Valerie that you can't open the box using a normal key. You'll need to ask Hendrix about it. The design of the box is rather unique."

The box design was truly an enigma.

I put the box into my bag and looked at her. "It's getting late. Aren't you planning to go back and get some shut eye?"

She twitched her mouth, "To be honest, I don't want to."

"We started quarrelling just after getting married. Is this normal?" I smiled at her question and replied, "You're already married, and you love Zachary. Everything else is secondary."

She sighed, "I know, but his mother is really annoying. She thinks she's all that just because she raised Zachary to become a famous professor. She thinks her son is too good for me and is always trying to make things difficult for me.

Parents should not get in the way of a married couple. If they interjected too much, it would negatively affect the marriage, regardless of how much a couple loved each other.

After thinking for a moment, I said, "Would you like to come over then?"

She laughed. "To stare at Hendrix's ice-cold face? No, thanks."

I shrugged, "Why don't I call Zachary and get him to pick you up?"

She pursed her lips and shook her head. After a pause, she said, "Alright, you should head back. I'll go back to the Moore Family home and look for my brother."

After saying this, she paused and said, "Why don't you come with me?"

I smiled and shook my head, "Hendrix will be mad if I get home too late."

She was speechless. She found her car key and looked at me, "Okay. I won't send you off since you drove. Go on ahead now. Goodnight!"

"Goodnight!"

He stood in front of my car without saying anything. He just looked at me with his mesmerizing dark eyes.

We locked gazes for the longest time through the glass window of the car. He seemed to have lost weight. His demeanor seemed colder.

It was pointless for us to keep staring at each other this way.

I sighed and got out of the car.

"I'm sorry about the money!" I said. I never thought that it would be used against him like this. It was my fault.

He looked at me but didn't seem to care. He said in a low voice, "Hendrix is right. The sweetness of a fruit doesn't matter as long as it quenches the thirst."

I was stunned. He pulled me into his embrace even before I could respond to what he meant. | could not help but feel a strange sense of familiarity as he did this.
