My Pretty Sweetheart (Arianna) novel Chapter 727

"Arianna, I owed you a wedding proposal seven years ago. Is it too late to make up for it now?"

I was a little surprised, but my heart fluttered with emotions. There was so much warmth within me. "Aren't we married already?"

"Even if you're married, you can still propose. Can romantic things only be done once? Besides, a proposal is necessary for all girls," Freya said.

She then hollered, "Our beloved President Roberts, we haven't heard you say those three important words. Are you planning not to say them?"

The man's eyes were clear, and he was as dashing as ever. We looked at each other for a long while. Under the anticipatory and watchful gaze of the crowd, I blushed as I slowly reached for the ring.

Little had I known, he quickly pulled hand forward and put the ring on my finger. His eyes were warm and gentle as he whispered, "Arianna, I'll be with you for the rest of my life."

He didn't say "I love you", but what he said meant more than what the three words could hold.

I smiled faintly and stretched out my hand to help him up.

Freya felt we were too boring and nagged at us, "Why are you two acting like an old couple who had been married for decades? Where was the passion? At least say something sweet to each other!"

I smiled faintly. "There's more to love than just fiery passion all the time."

Love was always in the details. I saw Valerie, whose eyes had reddened a little as she stood beside Pedro, gazing my way.

My mind went blank for a second, and I suddenly remembered the phone call she made to me.

She had called herself my mother, which was a very unfamiliar term to me. If I didn't put more thought into it, I'd almost forgot that everyone had a mother.

"What's wrong?" Seeing that I was suddenly in a daze, Hendrix reached out his hand and held me in his arms.

"It's nothing."

The sky gradually darkened. After the wedding ceremony was done, the dinner in the hotel began.

Freya must have had a hand in the "intermission" earlier. I much preferred simplicity over extravagance.

The wedding was grand. Most of the guests were from noble families, and even more guests showed up for dinner. Everyone greeted each other and were toasting to each other.

Sitting next to me was Master Milton, whom I just met in the hall. Charles was also there. He had seen Hendrix and I taking our seats.

Charles waved at me and said, "Come here, Arianna."

I was not good at socializing, so I immediately looked at Hendrix. He patted my hand and smiled, "Don't worry. It's alright!"

Walking to Charles's side, he motioned me to sit down. He looked at Owen and said, "Master Milton, let me introduce to you my daughter, Arianna Reid!"

Owen Milton nodded and said with a smile, "I met her earlier. Freya told me that she's the daughter of the Moore Family. Why is she now your daughter?"

Charles smiled and said, "This is what we call 'fate'. She and I hit it off, so I took her in as my daughter."

"Oh!" Master Milton nodded and said with a smile, "How blessed she is."

Right then, everyone laughed out loud while I smiled quietly to myself.

My form of blessing was to lead a peaceful and healthy life. Could someone like me be considered to be well-tempered?
