The man stared deeply at me, "Are you brushing me off?"
His eyes glistened, and I understood what he meant. This time, I tiptoed and kissed him on the lips, "How about now?" I smiled.
He nodded and smiled. "I'll make it back tonight."
"D*mn it!" Freya said, "What's with the holdup? Just get a room tonight!"
I...
She was incredibly direct.
After saying goodbye to Hendrix, I entered the bride's room with Freya.
There was already food on the table.
Freya asked that we sit together. We ate as we chatted/ "Have you and Hendrix ever thought of getting everyone together and holding a wedding ceremony?"
I shook my head, surprised by the mere thought of it. "Anne's identity will be exposed if we hold a wedding. It's best not to do that. We're alright the way we are anyway."
She frowned. "But everyone else is talking behind your back. If you don't clear things up, I'm afraid
the media might make things worse."
I smiled and said, "I am in control of how I live my life. I'm fine as long as I don't care about what other people say."
She pouted. "Only you would not care."
A waiter brought her gown over, "Miss Moore, this is your wedding dress."
Six waiters came, carrying boxes made of sandalwood.
I was stunned. I looked at Freya and said, "This seems to be a lot more traditional than I thought."
She couldn't help laughing. "If things were a little more dramatic, would I run from my wedding in my wedding dress?"
The room burst into laughter at what she said. She got up to look at her gown. Everything else was in order.
I only needed to smile at the guests as I stood behind Freya.
"The biggest gunpowder supplier in Jarold City, Mr. Owen will be arriving shortly. I'm guessing your Uncle Charles will be with him," Freya was tossing nuts into her mouth as she spoke.
She ate too quickly, so I subconsciously looked at her stomach and could not help but wonder about how she never really had an appetite this big, so why was she...
When she saw me looking at her, she shrugged and answered, "It's been two months. I don't feel much, just strong urges to eat."
I was shocked. "You're pregnant?"
She nodded. "Yes, and at the age of 31 when it is the best period for a woman to give birth. Thus, I would definitely not let this golden period go to waste."
After a short pause, she glanced at me and said, "I mean, you're already 30 too. Are you and Hendrix not planning to have a kid of your own?"
"It's still too early!" I brushed her off. Then, I saw a crowd of people walking in.
I uttered, "It must be the Milton family that you mentioned."
