My Pretty Sweetheart (Arianna) novel Chapter 678

After she finished, she boldly downed her wine. Zachary tactfully scooped some appetizing food onto her plate and said, "Drink less, eat more!"

She smiled. The usually raucous woman often seemed gentle and obedient when she was with her beloved.

Watching her smile, I was suddenly reminded of Monique. She had a bold and straightforward personality like hers too.

Recalling the past, I couldn't help but be consumed by negative emotions. I lowered my head, feeling somewhat downcast.

Hendrix tightened his grip on my hand. He said in a gentle voice, "Eat more so that you'll plump up." Even his gaze softened.

He filled my bowl up with food; he obviously wanted me to finish them.

I looked up at him and smiled.

We were all well acquainted with one another. After Sawyer's interlude, everyone chatted with each other, either about interesting things that happened around them or what they experienced at their own workplace.

Yana, a woman of few words, also spoke up, saying, "I went for my pregnancy check-up a few days ago. There was an elderly who was queuing in the same line; she looked to be in her sixties. I initially thought that she was queuing for her daughter-in-law, until she and I both entered the same ultrasound room. Only then did I find out that she was six months pregnant, with twins."

Stunned, I couldn't help but ask curiously, "That's considered a geriatric pregnancy; isn't it dangerous to give birth then"

She smiled. "There are indeed risks. But I heard that the old lady's husband insisted on her giving birth to the children. Their son passed away from an accident two years ago. Sop, the arrival of these two children could be considered a miracle for the elderly couple."

I nodded and sighed inwardly. Whatever happened in this world, it was for no one to judge but ourselves.

Given that the restaurant corridors weren't that wide and I was almost finished with my food, I reached out to support her. "I'll accompany you for a walk downstairs. This restaurant has a pretty big garden filled with flowers. Even though there aren't many this season, I'm sure you'd enjoy a stroll there."

She flashed me a faint smile and let me lead her downstairs.

"Arianna, are you and Mr. Roberts not planning to have another child?" She asked. Family- related questions were inevitable during a stroll after all.

I answered with a smile, "When we first adopted Anne, we already decided to only have her as our only child. If we have another, Anne's love would have to be shared, and this might hurt her."

She frowned, looking a little confused. "How could that be? Anne's going to be five soon. Wouldn't it be better to have another child to keep you company? You've already given her enough sense of security as a baby and toddler. Plus, kids won't think that much."
