My Pretty Sweetheart (Arianna) novel Chapter 608

When I woke up, it's already three in the afternoon. Fortunately, I didn't need to go to work. Hendrix was no longer in bed.

There were imprints of someone lying on the bed beside me. Obviously, he was the one who laid there.

A soft voice sounded from the living room, like they were having a meeting.

I got out of bed and walked outside.

"Push it. We're not giving in to Granger Group no matter what." He spoke in a low voice without much emotion, but his harshness and decisiveness were undoubtedly revealed.

If I hadn't seen him now, I would have forgotten that he was Hendrix Roberts, the genius who won numerous bloodbaths in business.

In the past four years, I had always heard the cold and ruthless rumors about him in Jarold City.

He peered up as he heard some movements. His cold eyes turned warm and gentle as they fell on me. His voice was calm as he said, "You're awake."

I nodded and my eyes fell on his computer. Seeing the video conference, I stayed rooted to where I was and said softly, "You can work first!"

He turned off the computer and stood up. He walked toward me. He held me in his arms and said gently, "Why didn't you sleep longer?"

I pursed my lips and gazed at the scenery outside the hotel. The many tens of acres of land, originally covered with weeds, were already dug into loess.

"Are you feeling better?" I withdrew my gaze and raised my hand to touch his forehead. It wasn't hot and there weren't any traces of a fever.

He grinned from ear to ear. "I feel better after seeing you!"

He held my hand. "If I hadn't met you, I might never feel happy."

Evan said that Hovell's sky was very peaceful.

Even the clouds moved slowly, as well as the love and affection. But they were real.

"Why did you let me switch with Andrea at the beginning?" I wanted to ask this ever since I knew that I was Valerie's daughter, but I didn't. Four years ago, I was afraid that his answer would make me drown in that swamp. So, I chose not to ask.

But this time, I thought I could handle it. No matter what the answer was, I clearly knew that he had me in his heart, and that's enough.

He held me and his strength increased a little. He seemed to be in dull pain. "If you had returned to the Moore Family at that time, would you have divorced me without hesitation?"
