He reached out and pinched my ankle. I was in so much pain that I took a deep breath of cold air and screamed, "Ouch!"
"Do you still know pain?" His tone was dissatisfied. "Was that look of yours to catch your breath?"
My lips crumpled and whispered, "I didn't know the floor would be so slippery. Who would want to fall down on their own?"
He glared at me while mocking me. "Don't you see who's the one to blame?" He paused for a second and then asked, "What were you up to?"
"I was going to take a bath!" How could this person be so ill-tempered?
He placed me in the bathtub and turned on the tap, and then said coldly, "Do you need me to bathe you?"
"No!" I replied to him.
He looked at me in a lukewarm manner and said, "You looked like you've lost your parents-in-law when others have lost their parents. I'm impressed, Arianna!"
I...
What kind of logic did this person possess?!
From that to this?
"Hendrix, what is your point? It was only an accident, unlike what you said. Besides, Irvin helped me. He's in a lot of trouble now. So what if I return the favor? Moreover, there's nothing between us. Did I say anything about you and Andrea?"
I decided to make a fuss about this matter with Hendrix. If it weren't for Irvin, I would have already lost my life with the baby in me. Now that he's in such a big trouble, and there was no one around him whom he could talk to. What was the big deal about me being his friend?
"Heh!" He was so angry that he started laughing. "Do you really have to help him? In such ways? Arianna, do you think that you are the only person who is in debt to someone else? Do you think that you'll die if you get someone else to take care of Irvin?"
"Well, find someone please!" I pursed my lips and snapped, "According to what you said, you could have gotten someone to take care of Andrea in the past. Why did you have to do it yourself?"
After thinking for a while, I decided to squat down. Hendrix came in and saw me in a strange position, reaching out my hand to pick up the shards of glass on the ground.
"Arianna, do you have any inclination towards self-harm?" His voice was low and cold, and it sounded like he was gnashing his teeth.
I looked up at him and found that I wasn't fully dressed in my pajamas yet. I stretched out my hand and wrapped myself in the pajamas, but accidentally moved the lotion and it fell to the ground too.
He sneered. "Do I need to bring all the glass cups from home, so you could break them too?"
What...
"I didn't mean to!" Glancing at him, I was angry. Then I paused and said, "Give me a hand. I can't move like this."
There were shards of glass under my feet. I didn't want to step on them.
