"Anyhow, you're only talking about what you need. Both sides should benefit from this deal, am I right?" Looking at him, I had a feeling of expectation in my heart.
It felt as though this wasn't our first negotiation.
Seeing that I had relented, Hendrix leaned back on the sofa and crossed his legs, saying, "I'll help you to regain your memories, and I'll be responsible for your safety."
If anyone else had said this, it would have felt like shameless bragging. But when Hendrix said it, there was a certain feeling of security.
As the saying went, money wasn't everything, but it was impossible not to have any money. In short, money could solve a lot of problems. Moreover, Hendrix didn't just have money. In regards to the current position of the Roberts family in Jarold City, it wasn't an exaggeration to say that they had complete control over the city. If he spoke out for me, nothing could stop me.
From the way he spoke, I could tell that he knew about Andrea harassing me. Combined with the men in suits who'd blocked my way earlier today, I was surrounded by danger. I really needed his
resources.
Most importantly, Hendrix's promise of helping me recover my memory was much more attractive to me rather than Irvin's beating around the bush. "Deal!"
Hendrix smiled and got up to leave. "Let's go."
"Where are we going?" I looked at him, confused.
"I'm going to settle things with your relationship with Irvin." Hendrix looked indifferent as he said that. "By the way, you're going to move your belongings here and live with me from now on."
Helplessly, I sighed and could run after him.
When we arrived at the Granger Family villa, that woman and the little boy had just changed out of their clothes and had cleaned up. The family of three were standing in the living room. Hendrix and I walked in and looked like total outsiders to them.
"What's wrong?" Irvin ignored the woman and child and walked towards me.
"Hendrix wants me to replace his late wife as his fiancee and Wynn's mother." I treated Irvin as my own family and didn't intend to play any dirty tricks on him.
Hearing this, Irvin looked calm and didn't seem surprised. "What about you? Do you want to do that?" "You have your own family, and I don't want to live without any memory of my past forever. He can help me and protect us. Besides, I adore Wynn." I lowered my head and dared not to look into his eyes.
