My Pretty Sweetheart (Arianna) novel Chapter 1946

"If you want me to cooperate, you first have to tell me where you're taking me."

Irvin had almost lost his life because of me. His current injuries had yet to heal, but we were, right then, once again in trouble. I couldn't drag him down with me again.

After he heard that, Irvin was about to say something when I secretly pinched his wrist to indicate that he shouldn't act rashly.

These men were definitely not with Andrea. She wouldn't be that rash as to get someone to kidnap me after showing off earlier.

It couldn't be Hendrix. Although Hendrix treated others coldly, he did things openly and was very straightforward. Whenever he needed me, he would let me know in advance or send Evan over to pick me up. He wouldn't use such a barbaric manner to "invite me" over.

Apart from those two, no one else came to mind.

I had to constantly search through my memories. It was really unpleasant being controlled by other people.

I couldn't fight back at all.

"You'll know when you get there." With that, the man removed his polite demeanor and reached forward to grab me.

Irvin certainly didn't sit still. Although he didn't have enough strength to fight back, he protected me from the man in the suit.

At this critical moment, the sound of screeching car brakes pierced the sky. The cars, which had surrounded us, were now cornered.

Shifting my gaze over, I spotted Evan's familiar face.

I yelled out, "Evan!"

Evan rushed over with his men and arrested all those men in suits within a matter of minutes, holding them down on the ground.

Evan stepped forward, slightly panting as he said, "Miss Reid, come with me."

"Alright." I agreed without hesitating.

Irvin, who had remained silent this whole time, voiced out, "I'm coming with you."

Hendrix and I were acquaintances, but I didn't know much about Jennifer. We sized each other up in passing.

Jennifer was obviously overwhelmed with emotions right now.

When she noticed me, it seemed as though she had seen a ghost. Her eyes shot wide open and her face turned deathly pale. She trembled in horror, "You... you're not dead?!"

After I had witnessed how surprised Cyril and Freya had been, I didn't find this reaction strange anymore.

It was as though everyone felt that I shouldn't be alive anymore.

It's just that, in a similar situation, when Cyril and Freya found me, they had mixed feelings of joy and heartfelt relief.

The reaction Jennifer gave me, however, reminded me of Andrea.

Whether it was Andrea or this lady in front of me that was giving off some very exaggerated expressions, I immediately understood the hidden meaning in their words. "You shouldn't be alive!"
