My Pretty Sweetheart (Arianna) novel Chapter 1941

As I opened the door, Irvin woke up.

"Did I wake you?" I sounded very apologetic.

"No," Irvin shook his head feebly. Even though he had been resting her for about thirty minutes, his face looked much paler.

After I hesitated for a moment, I said, "Irvin, I need to head out to settle something."

Irvin's sleepy eyes suddenly lit up as he raised his voice, "Who are you seeing?"

I stammered, "It's..."

He didn't give me a chance to finish my sentence and said, "Go if you want. But be careful, someone may have planned that car accident."

He spoke calmly, but his words made my heart sink.

I nodded, "I know. I will return as soon as I can."

After that, I poured out a glass of water and placed it close to him and said, "Madeline will be here soon. You can sleep for now."

"Okay."

I didn't leave until Madeline arrived.

Just as I was about to hail a taxi, a black business car parked by the road honked at me.

The license plate number wasn't familiar to me. When Hendrix had moved next door to Irvin's house, he had gotten out of a similar looking car.

I walked over and opened the door to the back seat. As soon as I opened the door, I saw Hendrix inside.

I pulled back my hand and greeted him meekly, "Mr. Roberts?"

"Get in the car."

There was no expression on his face, and he spoke very fast. For a moment, I couldn't tell whether I was hallucinating or if he actually spoke.

I glanced over and saw his fingers tapping on the armrest of the seat. His movements were casual but also in an oddly familiar way. Then I realized that he had been waiting for a very long time so I hurriedly got into the car.

Then, he walked over to Hendrix's right, whispered something to him and then led us forward.

I followed them silently. I could feel my palms sweating profusely.

Although I had reached an understanding with

Irvin, I still had a bit of luck and hoped that there would be a last minute surprise.

Not long after I sat down in the office, someone came in with the maternity test report and explained a lot of medical terms found in the report, but I didn't understand a single word.

Hendrix probably noticed that I was anxious, so he folded his legs and said languidly, "Get to the point."

The doctor quickly closed the report and said solemnly, "Madam Ariane, the test results were negative, you are not related by blood with Wynn."

"Not at all?" I was a little disappointed, "Could it be possible that Irvin was telling the truth? Freya and the others have mistaken me for someone else?"

I stared blankly at Hendrix. He sat on the chair with a sullen face, and he seemed to be stunned as well. He didn't look as comfortable as he was just now.
