My Pretty Sweetheart (Arianna) novel Chapter 1883

Three days later, Hendrix and I took our children and their sitter to the Marshall family's private island.

We flew from Jarold City to Mesville, and then boarded a private plane. Hours later, we finally landed on a coastline near the high seas. The violent rotation of the propeller caused the vast area of sea around the helicopter to shake. The thrilling scene was like the island - mysterious and dangerous.

When we got off the plane, we could see the palace- style buildings clearly. They were magnificent. The buildings were covered in green plants where the sea water couldn't reach. In front of us was a cobblestone path, extending from the foot of the mountain to the top. The island was a paradise for tropical plants. Walking through it, it was as if we had entered a tropical rain forest without swamp or mud.

It was no wonder Nathan could hide in such a secluded place for more than two decades.

I was so focused on observing my surroundings that I didn't notice the decorative stones in front of me. I stumbled and would've fallen if Hendrix had not immediately wrapped an arm around my waist and helped me stand upright.

"Sorry," I smiled apologetically and tried to calm myself down.

Being in a foreign environment, any slight mishap could easily have me shaken to the core.

"It doesn't matter," Hendrix smiled and calmly led me on. "Don't be too nervous. The Marshall family only cares about the children. As for you and I, they couldn't care less about us, so there's no need to be restrained. Just think of this as a leisure trip."

Although it was a joke, it also carried my true intention.

The Marshall family had too much contempt for Hendrix, but they still had some tension with the Moore Family and the Reid Family, whom I could count on. In the face of these wolves, I had to put my connections to good use.

When Hendrix heard this, he smiled and shook his head helplessly. He probably thought that I was joking, but I didn't bother explaining further. I forced myself to hold his arm and said while walking, "I absolutely believe in your rationality, but something in my gut tells me to be careful. The people inside are all closest to you biologically-speaking, so it's inevitable that they will touch on something that will make you lose it. Therefore, Mr. Roberts, you should keep to your silence if possible, and watch me do my thing."

Hendrix parted his lips, wanting to retort but it was too late. I forcefully pulled him straight towards the door.
