My Pretty Sweetheart (Arianna) novel Chapter 1860

We looked over at the same time. A few moments passed and a young man appeared in our line of sight.

I knew him. He was the one who delivered the speech to Baldrick at the auction. He must be his assistant.

Though there were blind spots between the position of the bench and the direction he was in, he seemed to have already seen us. He came straight over and took out a business card.

"Mr. Roberts, Mr. Yeager invites you to meet at his house tomorrow."

He then respectfully put the business card in his hand on the stone table next to us and turned to leave.

Hendrix took the business card into his hand, skimming through its brief content. His expression was indifferent, and he seemed to be in a trance as if thinking about something.

Baldrick and Sebastian were on the same side; they both had something to do with the toxin in my body. If they wanted to talk about business, they wouldn't have waited until this very moment. This business card was just a cover-up.

"Is this that person's idea?" Johanne's was probably the one who wanted to meet Hendrix.

Hendrix nodded. "Yes."

"Are you going?" I asked.

Hendrix ignored me and pulled me up. "Let's head back to the hotel."

After leaving through the back door and making sure that there were no reporters around, we got into Hendrix's car together.

Without a word, Evan drove us to the nearest mountaintop. When we arrived, Hendrix opened the door and got out. He walked in front of the fence and lit up a cigarette.

In the dead of the night, the wind breezed by on top of the high hill we were on. When the car lights fell on Hendrix's body, the image of him surrounded by smoke was particularly clear.

I looked at his back and asked Evan quietly, "How long has your boss known about Johannes?"

"It's been half a month." Evan said, "He hadn't been sleeping much. He could only sleep well when he is with you."

My heart sank and ached for him.

"You still have me." My voice was soft for fear of triggering his emotions. "No matter what happened in the past, I will love you forever, and I need you forever."

The cold wind found its way into my layered clothing, making me shiver. Hendrix was silent for a moment before tossing away the cigarette in his hand. He stepped on it, turned around, then hugged me.

"You are the only thing that gives my life meaning."

Hendrix lowered his voice, hugging me tightly as if he was afraid that I would slip away. He took a deep breath, using me as a source of courage to confront everything that he was afraid of.

It was not until his hands felt frozen by the night wind that he finally calmed down. Then he helped me into the car.

Since we didn't know what Johannes was planning, Hendrix was afraid that disappearing with me at the same time would cause a lot of trouble, so he decided to send me back to the hotel.

5£±, (Johannes)

[Roberts]On the way back, he gave me a detailed backstory about him and Johannes entanglement.
