This was probably the perks of being young; they had such idealistic thoughts about romance.
If they met someone who was slightly amazing, they would rush to get engaged and married. However, they failed to realize just how much longer their life was and that in fact, most of the time, the person they loved when they were young were only passersby.
I looked up at the floor display and let him immerse himself in his imagination, acting as if I didn't hear his big speech.
"Ding-"
The elevator door opened, and I walked to Room 302 with my luggage. Cyril followed me like a shadow.
After I opened the door, he didn't take himself as an outsider. He leaned over and readied himself to enter. I quickly closed the door and stopped him. "What are you doing? Are you going to share a room with me?"
Cyril peered into the room. When he found that the lights had not been turned on, he took a step back with a grin and said with his hands up in the air, "No, I won't go in if Freya is not here. She will be
jealous."
Who gave this brat such baseless confidence?
Having experienced many love affairs, Freya's heart was as still as water. If he wanted to make her jealous, he would be better off waiting for a meteorite to collide with the earth.
I gave him a speechless look and shut him out with a "bang" of a closing door.
When I turned around, the lights in the room were suddenly turned on.
Though Freya had made me anxious, she remained unmoving as she focused on playing with her phone. Her unaffected demeanor agitated me even more.
"Give me some ideas. You are more familiar with Mesville than I am. You know the best places to buy things from!" I wasn't thinking about myself. I was already here and many prominent people would be attending the event; I couldn't embarrass Hendrix abroad.
Freya casually switched to a more comfortable position and said, "What's the rush? I was just asking. You're not prepared, and Hendrix won't make things hard for you. As long as you're here, it'll be fine. Every year, the charity will produce some rare collections that have not been seen in the world for a while. It'll be a hit. Why don't you provide me with a live broadcast then? I'm investing in a media company in Jarold City. With such a fresh source of news, I guarantee I'll be able to make a lot of money."
I shot her a look. "When did you become interested in the media industry? Why don't I know about this?"
"There are many things you don't know. Money isn't hot to the hand. If you see potential, invest in it. Never put your eggs in the same basket, and you will never have to worry about coming to a dead end." At this point, she paused, turned her face to look at me, and said seriously, "Everything in the world will change. Only money won't. It's okay for women to not have anything, except for money. That, we must absolutely have."
As she spoke, I couldn't help but feel as if I was with the next Bill Gates.
