My Pretty Sweetheart (Arianna) novel Chapter 1853

People's hearts were made of flesh. No matter how hard rock was, it would eventually be warmed.

Perhaps before we met, Hendrix's heart was cold. But things had long changed since then, and I couldn't bear to see him hide his emotions from me with my own eyes.

He had no explanation to offer as he reached out and took me into his arms. He did not let go of me for the whole night.

To take the earliest flight back to Jarold City, we had to wake up before dawn.

When I left the bedroom, I looked back and found that the photo frame was still lying face down.

An hour later, the plane landed. Hendrix and I went our separate ways at the airport, respectively going back home to get ready.

The charity auction was popular with the media. Some famous media outlets in Jarold City had already published an official report on it. It was said that only the world-class rich were eligible to enter the place.

I had no idea why Hendrix could get two invitations.

After returning to the Reid family, I found that the ticket and invitation had been placed on the coffee table in my bedroom. The plane would arrive at seven in the evening, and I still had a whole day to prepare myself for it.

I was just about to catch up with Anne over the weekend, but ever since discovering her gift in mathematics, she became rather obsessive over it. She stayed in the study all day to enrich herself, and I didn't have the heart to disturb her.

Ian and Silvia came in the afternoon. They were going to migrate to Mesville and wanted to see Anne again before they left.

I didn't notice the temporary change in expression on her face immediately, but Ian did.

Knowing that the child had some scruples, Ian did not want to force her to do anything she didn't want to. "It doesn't matter. Anne, just do what you want to, okay?"

Anne beamed. "Yes! Thank you, Uncle Ian." They should have chatted for a long time but because of this, they did not talk any longer than five minutes.

Ian and I walked down the corridor at a rather slow pace. After a short distance, he whispered to me, "Don't you think Anne's change in behavior is a little drastic?"

"Yes, it is. After being in touch with Josiah, there are less conflicts between her and the servants. There are no issues with her daily social interactions either. Perhaps Josiah has really gotten better," I remarked indifferently.
