"Of course," Santiago said while laughing calmly, "My father wished to return to the land of his origin, so he moved the headquarters of his business to this country."
Extremely wealthy tycoons owned numerous companies under their names. Prodigies like Santiago weren't an exception.
"Yes," replied Pedro as he nodded. "It's a good thing to return, it's better than staying there. Coincidentally, there's a new project in my company that needs someone to collaborate with. You can go over it some other day, and we can see if there's any room for it."
"Alright, I'll do that," Santiago agreed.
As this was happening, the servant's voice could be heard from upstairs, "Master Moore, there's a phone call for you."
"Alright," Pedro replied as he stood up and walked upstairs. "You guys go ahead. I need to take care of some business, I'll be back soon."
As soon as he reached the second floor, Valerie stood up and walked toward the kitchen while saying, "Arianna, have a chat with Santiago for a bit while I prepare you two some food in the
kitchen."
When I realized that the both of them were on the same page, I was so embarrassed that I wanted to bury myself in a hole.
They did it so obviously, as though they were afraid that no one else would notice. Were they trying to set me up with this man in front of me?
Although I didn't tell Pedro and Valerie that our divorce was merely a faqade, I had been pestering Hendrix recently, which caused quite a stir in Jarold City. Those who weren't fools could see that I still had feelings for Hendrix, but they actually arranged a blind date for me without me knowing.
After calming myself down, I looked at Santiago with regret in my eyes. I shrugged my shoulders and grunted, "It seems that Mr. Jenkins' trip over today was all in vain. I'm sorry about my parents."
Prey a once stated that the reason why Valerie and Pedro had used such unscrupulous means to bring Andrea and Hendrix together wasn't only for the sake of their beloved daughter, but also because they wanted to strengthen themselves by using the Roberts.
One could imagine the actual purpose of this awkward blind date.
I glanced at the kitchen impulsively. I no longer looked forward to eating.
Santiago didn't respond to me after a while. I looked back at him and saw that he was still quite calm, as if he didn't mind my refusal.
Then, I got up and went to the kitchen.
Valerie was leaning to one side in the kitchen. She looked laid back with a cup of steaming black tea in her hand as she watched the servants cook.
