Sawyer gritted his teeth stubbornly and refused to apologize. They were locked in a state of confrontation, neither letting the other go.
It was useless to pull them apart with my huge belly. So I took a step back, covered my belly, bent down, and pretended to be in pain. I hissed and groaned, "I feel so uncomfortable, Aaron. Come and help me..."
Upon hearing this, Aaron immediately released Sawyer and ran over. He supported me with one hand and guarded me around my belly with the other hand. "What happened? Are you okay? Relax, let's go. We are in the hospital. I'll take you to a doctor now!"
While we spoke, Sawyer had already tidied up his shirt. He strode up the stairs and walked into the hospital.
Aaron had been so panicked he couldn't see what had happened behind him. He held me and didn't dare to move. Confused, he asked Sawyer for help, "Hurry up, Sawyer, call the doctor!"
After saying that, he turned his head with all his strength. He saw Sawyer walking off, and was so angry that he couldn't believe it. "F*ck, you ungrateful piece of sh*t. Arianna treated you so well before, she..."
"Okay." Seeing Sawyer had already gone in, I stopped pretending. I stood up and pulled at Aaron. "I'm fine now."
"Huh?" Aaron suddenly realized what I had done with his arms folded. "I found that no matter whom I have conflict with, you must stand on the other side. Do you put outsiders before family?"
I grinned. Sometimes Aaron was really pitiful, but he brought it on himself so much of the time that he had no choice but to accept it.
I reached out to hold his arm and simply dragged him in, coaxing him into complacency as we walked. "Aaron, do you know what it means to make things worse out of concern? You shouldn't..."
Following the sound, Silvia's eyes focused on Sawyer, who was in the ward. She seemed to be very emotional. "Ian didn't tell you why he suddenly went abroad, did he?"
Although she didn't glance over, I knew that she was talking to me. I shook my head and said, "No."
Silvia explained, "You know, Ian moved into his current family with his mother, and there was an older boy at home. Although they were both boys, the treatment was different. Whatever mistakes the elder brother had done, in the end, it became Ian's fault. This child was also his brother's, but the man agreed to their family's arranged marriage. My existence would never be acknowledged. They pushed Ian out to become the scapegoat."
She continued, "I knew he had someone he liked, but he never mentioned it. Before going home every night after work, he would silently smoke under the streetlamp at the apartment entrance... We were all eager for the love of our families, and we tacitly chose to live together. When he returned from abroad, he intended to take me and our child to visit you. But when we came to the door, we saw your guests, and he seemed to have changed into another person..."
When she was talking, the sound of the door opening suddenly echoed in the quiet corridor. Then, Sawyer shouted nervously, "Doctor! Doctor!"
