My Pretty Sweetheart (Arianna) novel Chapter 1629

A month passed quickly. While waiting for Irvin's news, the bar exam was imminent. Before that, I had to do a final prenatal check-up with Dr. Jules before he went abroad.

Hendrix had been so busy that he would only show up at home once every two or three days. However, on the day of the check-up, he still came back on time to take me to the hospital.

After cross- checking his checklist, Dr. Jules smiled and said, "Congratulations. The fetus is stable now. There is another piece of good news. The ultrasound scan shows that Mrs. Roberts is pregnant with twins this time!"

"Really?!" Hendrix and I exclaimed in unison. We were so surprised that our eyes were wet with tears.

Over the past month, I had been exhausted by the exam preparation, and also at being grounded. When these two children came into my life, it was as if my world was lit up. Was this God's compensation? My two unborn children had found me again, and wanted to continue our bond.

"Did you hear that? Hendrix, it's twins. Our children are back!" I gripped Hendrix's hand tightly. I felt the growing urge to sniff as emotions overwhelmed me. In the end, I collapsed in Hendrix's chest, tears streaming down like rain.

Even when Hendrix helped me into the car, I felt like I was in a dream. I felt like I was walking on clouds.

I tilted my head and stared blankly at Hendrix. "I'm not dreaming, am I? I'm really pregnant with twins?"

Hendrix pursed his lips and smiled. He stretched out his hand and caressed the fringes on my forehead behind my ears. His rough hand held my face and his movements were gentle. "It's not a dream. It's what Dr. Jules said about the ultrasound scan. The children aren't angry, and they want to be your babies. We lost them, and now we got them back. It's just that they're too naughty. They all came back all of a sudden. They don't know that you're weak, I'm worried you can't handle this."

The most important thing was that I owed the two little lives in my stomach. This time, I wouldn't be stubborn anymore.

"Hendrix," I called out to him, and then his eyes met mine. "Dismiss the bodyguards. I promise you, I won't go abroad, nor will I be impulsive. I will take good care of our children. Do you believe me?"

I smiled sincerely.

Hendrix's knitted brows suddenly loosened. He wrapped his arms around me and said, "It's my fate to believe you. Even if I am betrayed, I have no choice but to let you do as you wish."
