I pursed my lips and said, "It's not a big deal. It's just a box that my grandma left for me. He wanted me to hand it over to him, but I'm not willing to do so. So now he is detaining me because of this."
He chuckled.
He stared at me. "Is it that important?"
I nodded. "The box contains a contract that my grandma signed with the country. This contract will allow the Milton family to buy and import a large amount of petrol at a meager price. Thus, they are going to earn a lot of money from this."
Squinting at me, he frowned slightly and said, "I think you should just give him. There is no point in you continuing to hold onto it. The Milton family is not the only one benefiting from this, but the entire country as well. So why are you still hesitating?"
"I am going to hand the contract over to the Milton family, but not to Sebastian. The reason Hendrix went over to Asherton is to dig up all the evidence of Sebastian's crimes. So when he finally gets punished for his crimes, I will hand the box over to the Milton family. However, I won't hand it over to them as long as Sebastian is still roaming around freely."
He frowned slightly and said, "So, the reason why you don't want to give it to him is that you are worried that once the Milton family has cooperated with the Middle East, Sebastian will become a hero to the entire country. And when that time comes, his records will be wiped clean. Even if Hendrix found a piece of concrete evidence, he would just be pardoned for his crimes.”
I couldn't help frowning slightly. "What do you mean, rightfully belongs to the Milton family? Naomi, even though I don't know your motives for coming over to Jarold City, you should be very well aware that Sebastian doesn't care about you. He just wants to take advantage of you. When are you willing to stop all this madness? Are you only going to give up after your heart has been broken countless times?"
She snorted. "I know very well whether he's sincere to me or not. You don't have to worry about this. Arianna, just gives him that contract. I know that he hurt you before, but this thing is a big deal to him. It can save lives. It doesn't mean anything to you, but it is something very important to him. Can't you just give it to him?"
I felt that Naomi was not being rational at all. Staring at her, I uttered helplessly, "You have to figure things out yourself before you come and persuade me. Naomi, there is no meaning to life if you are blinded. It's your choice to fall in love with him, but you shouldn't lose yourself in the process."
