My Pretty Sweetheart (Arianna) novel Chapter 1255

I pretended to be angry and shouted at him, "Are you deaf? I told you, my husband is working in there. He hasn't returned home yet even though it's already late. I'm here to see him. Do you understand? If you didn't, I'll repeat it again. Give me back my cell phone or I'll go to the police station and report you for robbery!"

The two men snuck a glance at each other, then looked back at me. "Are you really here to see your husband?" one of them asked.

I raised the lunch box in my hand, looked at him and said angrily, "Are you blind? Who am I bringing these things for if not my husband? For the stray ghost?"

"Forget it, just let her in. There's still an operation in the building at the west gate. I heard that they're going to be there all night. She is probably the wife of one of those workers. A woman like her can't cause any trouble. She's making such a fuss here,"

one of the guards spoke.

The man looked at me and was silent for a moment. Then, he handed me my cell phone and ordered, "Go in!"

I took the phone and uttered a few sentences in another dialect. Most of the workers in the factory were foreigners, so I tried to make myself seem more credible.

After entering the factory, I searched around. As the two men guarding the door mentioned, the lights in one of the buildings were on. It should be the workers who were working overtime in that factory.

As for the other two buildings, one of them was completely dark. I guessed that there was no one in it, because there was no one standing guard outside the building. The other building was dark as well, except for one of the floors. There were people guarding below the building. Sheridan had mentioned that they would change their shift every half an hour.

I nodded and searched for a while before I found the stairs. As Sheridan mentioned, there was an entrance at the stairs, but it was guarded by another person. I hid and observed for a while before discovering that the person guarding seemed to be dozing off.

The cold storage room was right beside me. I walked over quietly. Fortunately, it was not locked, so I gently pushed the door open. As Sheridan said, the cold storage room was not very big.

I saw Hendrix squatting in the corner with his arms around him. I was dumbfounded, but not for long. Without thinking too much, I ran into the room. The temperature in the room was set to zero degrees, which was not lower than the temperature in an average household freezer. However, it was still unbearable for a person to stay in it for a long time.

I didn't know how long Hendrix had been inside. His whole body was a little stiff and the temperature on his forehead was as cold as ice. He was nearly unconscious.
