"Anne will stay at home and keep Oliver company. Oliver is a baby too, so she would be happy to play with him. Anyway, if I bring her out, she might cause trouble. So, I'll go by myself," After that, I got up to head upstairs.
Anne was coming downstairs. With her bare feet, she ran to me and said, "Mom, Uncle Aaron called me and asked for you!"
Speak of the devil! What a coincidence.
I picked up the phone. A voice asked, "You're back in Jarold City?"
I nodded, "Wow! You're quite well-informed!"
Aaron laughed and said, "Of course. Let's have dinner together tonight. I haven't seen you for a long time. I missed you!"
"Okay," I said, "I'm also planning to visit Yana and the baby, and also Mr. Reid."
Aaron did not reply straight away. After a moment's silence, he said, "I mean that we'll have dinner alone at night. Just two of us..."
I pursed my lips and was stunned for a moment, "Why?"
Before he responded, I asked instinctively, "Did
you have a fight with Yana?" "Can't we just have dinner alone?" he said, sounding a little irritable. It seemed that it might actually betrue.
I nodded and answered, "Sure, you can decide on the time and venue!"
He agreed and hung up.
Anne was hugging me. She hadn't changed out of her pajamas yet. I urged her to do it but she wanted me to help her instead. I wanted her to do it by herself as I didn't want to spoil her. But in response, she ran to Hendrix's side and sulked.
I pursed my lips and went back to my room, deciding to tidy up the place.
He sat on my bed and tried to start a conversation, "When are you planning to go back to Asherton?"
"After the National Day holidays!"
Hendrix seemed unfazed by the short replies I gave him. He continued to speak.
I was slightly annoyed. I stood up and walked out, but he grabbed my wrist, "Do we have to continue quarreling like this?"
I looked back at him and frowned, "When did I quarrel with you, Mr. Roberts?"
He frowned and a frigid look appeared in his eyes. "Arianna, I hope we can sit down and talk this out peacefully. I don't wish to continue this cold war with you. You are being quite unreasonable!"
I looked up at him and said with a smile, "Mr. Roberts, you are right. I am being unreasonable. If you don't like it, you don't have to come here. No one forced you to come."
