Upon hearing the sound of a car starting, Byron subconsciously looked out the window.

"Daddy, it's your turn!" Mia tugged at Byron's sleeve.

Pulling his gaze back, Byron placed a chess piece.

Who left? He wondered, then glanced upstairs again.

At that moment, Logan called.

Rising, Byron moved aside to answer, "Logan, what's up?"

"Byron, my stomach suddenly started hurting badly. I didn't want to scare Aiden and Mia, so I had Athena sneak me out to see a doctor," Logan feigned a pained voice from the other end.

Byron frowned. "Is it severe?"

"I'm not sure. Athena asked you to look after Aiden and Mia. I need to head to the emergency room..."

"Understood."

After hanging up, Byron sent Athena a message: [Athena, drive safely. Call me if anything happens.]

Athena gripped her phone tightly, her eyes watering as she read Byron's message.

With the roads clear at night, she arrived at Ennis' research institute in about twenty minutes.

The lights in the institute were brightly lit.

Athena clenched her fist and headed straight upstairs.

Ennis was extremely busy today. After handling matters related to Daisy, he still had a pile of research reports to write and a paper to draft.

Just as he was preparing to brew a pot of coffee to help him stay up all night, he heard a commotion from outside.

"Mrs. Crawford, you can't come in without an appointment. Doc. Freed is very busy right now..."

"Move!"

"Okay..." Athena gently patted Logan's back and then confidently walked towards Ennis.

Ennis gave Logan a reassuring look and followed Athena.

As the door closed, Logan immediately sat on a bench directly across from it.

"Seeing me arrive like this, you should know why I'm here, right?" Athena asked Ennis.

Ennis nodded. "You know that my father was Larry's primary doctor and that the patient I mentioned to you before was Larry himself."

"What do you know?" Athena stared at Ennis with an imposing presence.

"I know that Byron's father is not Julian, but Larry. And I also know that Madam Crawford carries a familial hereditary mental illness in her genes."

This revelation hit Athena like a bolt from the blue.

"Here are the related files." Ennis, seemingly prepared, retrieved a stack of yellowed papers from a safe and handed them to Athena. "You'll find all the answers you seek in here."
