"Stop the chit-chat. Sell him the fruit, then head next door to get a couple of buckets of lilies. Hurry up and get to the monastery. He might still make it in time for the evening meal!" The old man still looked stern as he turned to pick out the fruit.

Though he had a serious expression, Sally noticed that he was very meticulous in selecting the fruit, carefully setting aside any with even minor imperfections.

After purchasing the fruit and flowers, Sally and Elijah bid farewell to the Reed couple.
