Athena slept in until half-past eight, stretching leisurely before getting up.
Coincidentally, she bumped into Evie going downstairs as she headed out.
"Morning." Evie greeted her with a yawn.
"Morning," Athena replied.
The two of them went downstairs together.
Ada was in the living room preparing some materials.
Seeing them coming down, Ada quickly invited them to the dining room and brought them their breakfast.
As Athena sat down, she noticed Evie seemed to have a question that she hesitated to ask.
Seeing that, Athena casually said, "Madam Cross, she knows everything. Just go ahead and ask."
"Um... I was just wondering if you found Linda's parents?"
"We found them." Athena nodded and proceeded to recount some of the events from yesterday.
"Oh, I think I heard about it before. The Ziegler family's financial situation was average, mainly because they have many children. They had several sons and were finally blessed with a daughter, but then..."
"No wonder Mrs. Ziegler was so upset that she had to rely on medications," Evie murmured.
It was common for people who lived during that time and in Mageport to have preference for boys as family heirs, so there weren't a lot of families that genuinely cared for their daughters.
In short, Brian was despicable!
"You two need to be careful when dealing with these matters. Although Brian is getting older, he's still ruthless." Ada expressed her concern.
Athena smiled softly.
"Madam Cross, look over there." She pointed outside the dining room's window to where Mike was talking to Martin. "He can handle ten guys on his own. If it's someone like Brian... taking care of a hundred of them wouldn't be a problem!"
Ada found the joke amusing.
"If there were a hundred Brian, we'd be in deep trouble."
While they were chatting, they noticed Evie was spacing out.
Though her mood had improved somewhat yesterday, the root issues were still there.
She thought he was trying to gain her sympathy. "What's up with the message you sent to Athena?" she asked.
Athena stood beside them, thinking, "Just look at them now. The world sure is unpredictable, and things evolve and change over time."
In the past, Evie would never have talked to Caspian like that, whereas Caspian had no qualms about belittling her like that.
"It's exactly what it said," Caspian said, lowering his gaze. "Sit down, and let's talk."
Athena and Evie took their seats.
Caspian ordered two drinks.
He then got straight to the point. "Ms. Stella, maybe you're right... My mother's death is indeed related to Brian."
"What do you mean?" Athena asked.
"To be honest, I didn't have any memories from the year before my mother's death," Caspian said with a sorrowful voice, his hands that were resting on the table unconsciously clenching into fists. "Perhaps Mrs. Hansen's death triggered my memories. Yesterday, I fully recalled what happened that year, and now I'm pretty sure Brian was responsible for my mother's death."
Caspian looked up and instinctively glanced at Evie. "At that time, she had already decided to go find Henry... She wouldn't have committed suicide."

The readers' comments on the novel: My Mommy Became A Billionaire After the Breakup
I am at Chapter 550 and there are almost 2 stories in 1. Aron and Evie's story could very well have been made into another story. Such a waste of time because I am reading for Byron and Athena, not Evie and Aron...
Is there no new updates after this one?...
