My Love Until the Last Goodbye (Mary and Maximus) novel Chapter 1060

“Dad! Celeste! Family! Where is everyone? We’re back!” Alden shouted.

“Damn it!” Peter cursed, who had been just about to…

“Peter! Alden’s back!” Celeste said, quickly covering herself with her dress.

“I know! Hell, do I know…” Peter grumbled, cursing their bad luck.

“Come on, let’s go see them!” Celeste said, getting up and starting to dress.

“Remind me again—why the hell are we all living in one house when we could just be the four of us?” Peter asked, clearly frustrated.

“Come on, don’t be mad… We can try again tonight. Besides, pretty soon it really will be just the four of us, like you said,” Celeste said, trying to calm down her annoyed fiancé. “Can you help me tie my dress?”

Peter rolled his eyes and muttered, “I’d rather be looking at you without it…”

“Yeah, yeah, but your son was coming back from his honeymoon today and you knew that. Look on the bright side—if they’re home, we can leave the girls with them later and sneak away for a few hours. You do remember you bought me an apartment here too, right?”

“Celeste Mason, you’re wicked!” Peter said, caught off guard.

“Nope, I’m just giving you ideas to help you calm down and put on that gorgeous smile your parents and nature gifted you.”

“Fine! Alright! We’ll save this for tonight—or for when we sneak off to your apartment.”

“That’s more like it, babe! I love seeing you with that beautiful smile,” Celeste said, easing him into a better mood.

The couple finished getting dressed and, acting like nothing had happened—except for Celeste’s blushing cheeks—they left the room pretending they’d been napping.

Peter walked beside his fiancée, took her hand, leaned in, and whispered in her ear:

“Don’t worry about it! Yeah, we were resting. You know, we take whatever quiet moments we can get when the girls finally crash.”

“What about the others?”

“Mmm… this house basically feels like a hotel these days—even your son…”

“What do you mean?”

“Ethan’s with John. My mom, Danielle, and Ellie went to the movies. And you two—well, you’ve been off on your super long honeymoon, which was supposed to be a week, then turned into fifteen days, and ended up being over a month…”

Alden and Serenity exchanged a look and laughed, remembering their time away. Even with Serenity’s pregnancy pretty far along, they still managed to visit lots of places and enjoy the views. Serenity had even taken some stunning photos.

She had already told Alden she was planning to print them in different sizes and display them in a gallery to sell.
