The moment Manfred saw those eyes, he knew. Those were the very eyes that had haunted him for days.
Every time he closed his own, they would appear in his mind.
He had even tried to paint them. But no matter how many times he tried, the paintings lacked something.
It didn't capture the light in them—the light that made his heart lose control.
And now, seeing them in front of him, he was sure she was the one he had been searching for.
…
When Vivian met Manfred's gaze, there was a flicker of confusion in her heart.
She was certain this was him because the way he looked at her was the same as before.
Yet, there was something new in his eyes—a hint of curiosity.
But before she could think too much, she heard his voice. "Ten thousand."
And just like that, she was bought. The cage door swung open, and she stepped out.
At that moment, the people around them burst into congratulations.
"Congratulations, Mr. Atkinson! Another beauty for your collection! Such flawless skin, such breathtaking features—truly a rare gem in this world!"
The voices rang with forced enthusiasm. Many of them took the chance to steal glances at Vivian—brazen and unrestrained.
Because they all knew that if they didn't look now, she would likely be unrecognizable by tomorrow.
Vivian stepped out of the cage and shivered. It was freezing.
Only then did she notice that everyone else was wearing thick winter coats. Only the women in the cage had been left exposed to the cold.
And now that it was nighttime, the chill felt even sharper.
Just as she was about to tremble, a cloak fell over her shoulders. It was made of soft fox fur and still carried the lingering warmth of its owner.
She was wrapped completely inside it before being pulled into Manfred's embrace.

Is the author going to finally portray Skylark as a brave woman who can argue and communicate like a normal person in this real world? Hoping so.......
I don't like this story portraying Skylark's personality as too weak, too naive, Can't even defend herself Like accepting every humiliation from Vera's schemes and injustice without saying anything or doing anything. I wonder who is the protagonist in this novel, Vera or Skylark....
