Harvey noticed that Vivian was becoming increasingly agitated. He spoke gently to her, "You're still very weak. Howard has been giving you an IV drip for three days. You need to rest and recover."
Vivian shook her head anxiously. "No, that's not it. I shouldn't have returned now. Uncle Harvey, I shouldn't be back at this time! Don't you understand? I was so close to Graystone. I had found out about my parents. I was about to meet them!
"And Manfred, I didn't even get to say a proper goodbye to him. He must be worried sick. I've been gone for three days. I don't even know how much time has passed there. And my parents…"
Harvey was stunned. "You found out about your parents?" he asked in disbelief.
"Uncle Harvey, I was about to meet them. How could I return at such a crucial moment? How could this happen?" Vivian felt utterly helpless, her body weak, and she blamed herself.
She couldn't help but wonder why it had to happen now. She should have been stronger at this crucial moment.
She realized her sudden return had to do with her physical condition. She must have been dragged back because of her weakness.
Harvey saw the self-blame in her eyes and quickly reassured her. "Vivian, don't blame yourself. This isn't your fault. You've done incredibly well to find out about your parents in such a short time. You've been through so much—traveling between the past and the present.
"It's taken a toll on your body. If your parents knew what you've been through, they wouldn't want you taking such risks. They might not even want to see you time travel again."
There was something else Harvey noticed. Vivian's feelings for Manfred seemed to have deepened.
At Vivian's age, it was easy to develop feelings for someone, especially if the person had been kind and caring. He didn't know whether this was good or bad for her.
Vivian's tears flowed freely. "I have to go back. Uncle Harvey, I need to go back."
Three days… It had been too long.
Howard stood outside the bedroom door, listening to Vivian cry. The sound tugged at his heart, and he found himself on the verge of tears as well.
"The chicken soup is delicious," she said softly.
After finishing the chicken soup, she felt more energetic; the warmth seeped through her, chasing away the chill and bringing a flicker of strength.
Harvey finally exhaled, relief softening his features. "Vivian, we should go to the hospital for a thorough checkup. We need to be sure time travel hasn't harmed you."
She shook her head. "I don't think it’s necessary. I know my body. I'm just exhausted from everything. Rest will help."
She didn't want to waste time. She hoped to return as soon as possible after drinking the chicken soup.
She was especially worried that several years might have passed again by the time she made it back.
Harvey exchanged a look with Howard.

Is the author going to finally portray Skylark as a brave woman who can argue and communicate like a normal person in this real world? Hoping so.......
I don't like this story portraying Skylark's personality as too weak, too naive, Can't even defend herself Like accepting every humiliation from Vera's schemes and injustice without saying anything or doing anything. I wonder who is the protagonist in this novel, Vera or Skylark....
