Randall nearly fainted.
"Randall, quickly, send someone to fetch the doctor… now!" Zea's voice trembled with panic.
Over the years, she had cultivated a demeanor much like Randall's—composed, dignified, and always in control. But this time, she was utterly undone. For the first time, she felt completely helpless.
Randall's frown deepened as he took in the scene. "Calling the doctor at this hour? If this turns out to be nothing—" His words faltered when his eyes landed on Cyril lying on the bed.
Cyril's legs were covered in blood. He was bare from the waist down, and the horrific sight revealed the unimaginable—his manhood was gone, replaced by a gaping wound.
"Ah!"Randall's eyes widened in shock, the horror leaving him visibly rattled.
Cyril had lost all sense of reason, his screams piercing the night. "No! No! This is a nightmare! It has to be. A ghost—it's the ghost! It's her!"
Randall no longer cared about the ghostly claims.
"Quickly! Take my insignia and summon Dr. Herrera immediately! Now!" he barked.
The Atkinson residence was thrown into chaos in the dead of night. Cyril's screams echoed relentlessly. In her panic, Zea lashed out at the maids, blaming them for failing to protect her son and allowing such a tragedy to unfold.
Meanwhile, in the dimly lit storage shed, Manfred sat quietly in the shadows, listening to the chaos unfolding in the main house. The frantic cries and anguished wails sounded to him like the sweetest music.
To anyone else, the shed was stiflingly dark, but in Manfred's eyes, a flickering flame burned—bright, intense, and unyielding.
Vivian had originally planned to visit Manfred that day, but her plans were interrupted by a phone call from Hadwin Powell. He said he had something important to discuss and needed her help.
Hadwin, six years her senior, had always looked out for her.
After Skylar and Joe's accident, Natalie often relied on Hadwin and her family for support. When Hadwin called, Vivian couldn't refuse, though a part of her still worried about Manfred.
During the car ride, her thoughts wandered. She absentmindedly stared at the bracelet on her wrist, wondering how Manfred's injuries were healing. His back had been in such terrible condition.
She also wondered if the Atkinson family had tormented him again.

Is the author going to finally portray Skylark as a brave woman who can argue and communicate like a normal person in this real world? Hoping so.......
I don't like this story portraying Skylark's personality as too weak, too naive, Can't even defend herself Like accepting every humiliation from Vera's schemes and injustice without saying anything or doing anything. I wonder who is the protagonist in this novel, Vera or Skylark....
