The man hoped that having a child would restore his pride, but year after year, his second wife couldn't bear children.
After three years, the villagers mocked him even more, looking down on him entirely.
Some suggested he visit a temple to pray to the gods. On his way, he encountered a traveling priest who sold him the vial-shaped emerald pendant, claiming that wearing it daily would ensure he had children.
A year later, his wife did give birth to a child, but the baby tragically passed away shortly after birth.
The villagers declared that the man was destined to be childless due to sins from a past life. Unable to bear the shame, he took the pendant and jumped into the river.
The pendant then passed through the hands of many others.
Although its original malevolent aura had dissipated over the years, someone had recently enhanced it with intricate rituals and symbols, strengthening its malicious energy.
Thora grew increasingly anxious as Skylar silently examined the pendant. "Mrs. Martin? Is it just as I suspected? Is this a negative item?"
"It is indeed a negative item. How did you manage to take it from your husband? He must treasure it now and wouldn't let it out of his sight, likely wearing it constantly," Skylar said solemnly.
Over the years, Skylar had occasionally encountered negative items and had been asked to deal with them. However, this particular object was different—much harder to resolve.
Thora was stunned by how accurately Skylar had guessed. "He truly won't part with it, not even while bathing. I've been suspicious for days but couldn't find a chance to take it from him.
"Last night, he drank all night with friends and didn't return home until 8:00 am. That's when I managed to take it."
"I see," Skylar replied with a slight frown.
"You don't have to do it now. Over the next two months, this object will only influence his desire for children.
"The stronger his natural aversion to having children, the more the curse will push him to want them. After about a month, it will begin to affect his health. You have a month to think this over," Skylar said gently.
She understood that suggesting divorce to a loving couple was harsh and difficult to accept.
"What if I don't divorce him?" Thora bit her lip, took a deep breath, and hesitated for a moment before asking.
"If you don't divorce, the only way to change the situation is to have a child. The moment he sees the child, he will have a moment of clarity, giving me an opportunity to remove the curse," Skylar replied.
Upon hearing that, Thora's expression darkened, her emotions clearly in turmoil.

Is the author going to finally portray Skylark as a brave woman who can argue and communicate like a normal person in this real world? Hoping so.......
I don't like this story portraying Skylark's personality as too weak, too naive, Can't even defend herself Like accepting every humiliation from Vera's schemes and injustice without saying anything or doing anything. I wonder who is the protagonist in this novel, Vera or Skylark....
