The group of security guards jabbered at Ruth, making her face turn red with anger.
She was furious with Charles. If he had just acknowledged her identity, she wouldn't have been mocked and looked down on like this.
"You'll regret this!" Ruth angrily pointed at the security guards.
As the security guards were about to respond, they suddenly noticed someone walking toward them. It was Charles.
Charles had just finished filming and changed into casual clothes. As he walked over, he didn't notice Ruth right away. He was used to being watched by numerous eyes, so he didn't pay much attention.
"Charles…" one of the security guards murmured under his breath, drawing Ruth's attention immediately.
She quickly turned to look at him. Charles caught sight of her too. This was the first time they had met in person, though they had both seen each other's pictures.
Just one glance, and they instantly recognized each other. Charles' face immediately hardened.
Ruth quickly walked toward him. "I finally found you! Charles, tell them right now that I'm your sister. They're saying your sister is someone else, not me. You need to tell them the truth!"
She couldn't wait to have Charles prove the security guards wrong.
"Mr. Sullivan, should we call the police for help?" One of the security guards asked, seeing Ruth's frantic behavior.
Charles shook his head. "No need. I'll handle it. Just make sure to keep her away if she tries to come back."
"You! Charles, what are you even saying? Whether you acknowledge it or not, I'm your sister. You can't deny that." Ruth was furious at Charles' coldness.
Even her grandfather's family had moved out of Jipsburg, and now they were living in utter poverty.
Her parents had divorced. Finn had stayed in Murida, living as poorly as a beggar. There was no way she could go to him for help.
As for Miriam, in the past two years, she had taken up with a boy toy and spent all her money on him, while she was now aimlessly wandering through life, not caring about Ruth at all.
Ruth couldn't bear the sudden downfall of her life. Once a socialite, now she didn't even have ten thousand dollars to her name.
Seeing Charles and the others, each more glamorous than the last, living in a villa, driving luxury cars, and surrounded by wealth, she couldn't help but think, "Why is it that they, sharing the same father, had everything, while I have nothing?"
She was the sister, the one who deserved to be taken care of. Skylar had stolen everything from her—the real sister.

Is the author going to finally portray Skylark as a brave woman who can argue and communicate like a normal person in this real world? Hoping so.......
I don't like this story portraying Skylark's personality as too weak, too naive, Can't even defend herself Like accepting every humiliation from Vera's schemes and injustice without saying anything or doing anything. I wonder who is the protagonist in this novel, Vera or Skylark....
