Stephen didn't just deceive Rosa out of her money; he had deceived her entire being.
An hour later, Rosa stumbled out of the police station, her face pale. The moment the sunlight hit her, she almost lost her balance.
The police had told her that locating Stephen would take time. Moreover, Stephen had a criminal record. Recently, multiple women had reported him for scamming them out of money and even manipulating them into sleeping with him.
Now, the police were gathering evidence and searching for him. Of course, through their investigation, they found that Stephen's account had very little money left, likely all gone. All the money had either been gambled away or spent on extravagant purchases.
Rosa was advised to prepare herself for the reality that even if they found Stephen, recovering her money might be impossible. Hearing that the money couldn't be retrieved, Rosa went blank.
If the money couldn't be recovered, she would be left with nothing, just like three years ago. She would have no choice but to leave Jipsburg.
"Stephen! You're ruthless! I never did anything to hurt you. I trusted you, treated you well, and in the end, you tricked me like this?" she screamed, collapsing onto the ground in tears.
After sobbing for a while, she suddenly thought of Simona. She had to find Simona, hoping she could help her locate Stephen.
Rosa had suffered horribly at Stephen's hands, and Simona had probably been deceived just as badly. She would likely be trying to find him too.
Rosa rushed to her car and drove straight to Jipsburg College.
After asking around, she finally found Simona. When Simona saw Rosa, she was slightly surprised. "You're looking for me?"
She didn't recognize her and had never met her before, though Simona did find Rosa somewhat familiar.
Rosa was taken aback by how composed Simona appeared. There wasn't even a hint of the hopelessness one would expect from someone who had been deceived. But before she could think too much, she grabbed Simona's arm.
"You're Stephen's girlfriend, aren't you?"
But back then, Rosa had always appeared glamorous and confident. The person before her now was a far cry from that image—disheveled and broken. If someone didn't take a close look, they might not have recognized her.
Rosa's face paled further. "You don't even know where he is?"
"I really don't know, and I don't want to know. I don't want anything to do with him anymore," Simona replied, genuinely regretting ever being involved with him.
Rosa staggered a little, almost losing her balance. "He scammed me—he took all my money! I have to find him."
Simona was stunned. "You… You should report it to the police."
At the suggestion of going to the police, Rosa's expression darkened even further.

Is the author going to finally portray Skylark as a brave woman who can argue and communicate like a normal person in this real world? Hoping so.......
I don't like this story portraying Skylark's personality as too weak, too naive, Can't even defend herself Like accepting every humiliation from Vera's schemes and injustice without saying anything or doing anything. I wonder who is the protagonist in this novel, Vera or Skylark....
