Bound To My Mafia Stepuncles

Chapter 127

Matteo’s pov

The cold morning air hits me as soon as I step outside. It’s quiet, the kind of silence that makes you feel like the world is holding its breath. I don’t look back at the house. If I do, I’ll see herAriastanding in the doorway, eyes wide and soft, like she’s memorizing my face. I can’t afford to think about her right now.

Dante and Enzo fall in beside me, no words needed. We move as one. That’s how it’s always been,

We get into the car. The leather seats are cold, but I barely feel it. My mind is already racing. That call wasn’t just a warning. It was a challenge.

They’re testing us,Dante says, breaking the silence.

They think we’re distracted,Enzo adds, tapping his fingers against his thigh.

I grip the wheel tighter. Then we remind them who we are.

The drive to the warehouse is short, but every second feels stretched. I keep thinking about the message behind the call. A crew we already warned is crossing lines again. They want to see if we’ve gone soft. If falling for someone like Aria makes me weak.

It doesn’t.

We pull up to the warehouse. It’s quiet. Too quiet. A few of our men are stationed outside, guns visible. They nod as we pass. Inside, it smells like oil and old metal. The crew is waiting for us. Five of them. All younger. Cocky.

Big mistake.

I walk in first. Dante and Enzo flank me, like shadows that kill. I stop a few feet from the leaderDaniel, I think his name is. He’s tall, lean, and stupid enough to smirk.

You got my message,I say calmly.

He shrugs. Didn’t think it needed a reply.

Dante steps forward. You cross our line. You break our rule. You don’t get to talk smart Daniel laughs, nervous but still trying to act brave. We thought you were busy playing house. Heard you’ve got a girl now.

The air shifts. Enzo tilts his head, eyes dark. Say her name. I dare you.

Daniel opens his mouth again, but I cut him off. My voice is cold. Sharp. One more word, and I paint this floor with your blood.

He shuts up.

I step closer. You think love makes me soft? That’s your mistake. I protect what’s mine. I burn the world if I have to.

His boys look scared now. Good. They should be.

This is your last warning,I say. Next time, I don’t talk. I don’t ask. I end.

I nod to Dante. He moves fast. A punch to the ribs. A knee to the gut. Daniel drops, gasping for breath. Enzo leans down beside him.

You’re lucky he’s in a good mood.

I grabbed a chair at the side of the warehouse.

Chapter 127

I leaned back in the metal chair like I had all the time in the world, watching Daniel across from me sweat through his expensive suit the dim light overhead swung slowly, casting shadows across his face. So let me get this straight, I said, voice calm but cold. You want to renegotiate terms on a deal you already agreed to. After you missed the first payment. After your crew got caught sniffing around my port like rats. Enzo stood just behind me, arms crossed, quiet and still, but his presence was a threat all on its own. Dante cracked his knuckles without looking up. Daniel cleared his throat. It was a misunderstanding, Matteo. We didn’t mean-I raised a hand, silencing him. Misunderstandings don’t happen in our world. Only disrespect.I leaned forward, resting my forearms on the table, eyes locked on his. If you wanted better terms, you should’ve come with respect. Not lies. And definitely not questions about my personal life. His face paled, eyes darting between the three of us. Good. Let him feel that fear in his bones. Now,I continued, voice like steel, You’ll pay what you owe. Plus interest. And if I hear Aria’s name come out of your mouth again, I’ll make

Sure it’s the last thing you ever say.

The silence hung thick after I laid down our terms, every breath in the room sharp and cautious. Daniel’s jaw worked like he wanted to argue but he knew better. His eyes flicked to the folder in front of him, then to each of us, calculating. I leaned forward slightly, voice calm but cold. Tick tock, Daniel. We don’t have all day.One of his men shifted beside himsome loudmouth in a leather jacket who clearly thought backing Daniel made him brave. This wasn’t the agreement, the idiot muttered. Before he could say another word, Enzo moved. Swift and brutal, His fist connected with the guy’s jaw, knocking him off his chair and straight to the floor. A chorus of chairs scraped back as the others stood up, hands hovering near weapons. But Dante just smiledslow and dangerousand placed his gun on the table, casual but clear. Try it,he said, Give us a reason. The tension crackled like electricity. No one moved. Daniel raised both hands, voice strained. Stand down,he told them. Justdo it.He picked up the pen with a trembling hand and signed the papers. Enzo wiped his knuckles on the guy’s jacket like he was nothing more than dirt. I took the contract, tucking it into my coat. Smart choice,I said. But make no mistakethis wasn’t forgiveness. It was a warning.I turned to my brothers. We’re done here. Let’s get back to Aria.Because that girl was the only softness we had left in this worldand I wasn’t about to let any of this filth touch her peace.

On the way back to the car, one of the older guardsthe kind who’s been around since our father ran thingsmutters, Be careful what softens you, Matteo. It’s always the first thing they target.
