Chapter 708 He Made a Misstep

When Ethan finished his words, Violet froze in the passenger seat.

When Violet was in a trance, two scenes flashed through her mind.

The first scene happened on the day when Ethan beat up Saylor. Ethan admitted that he liked Violet in front of Saylor.

Ethan said to Violet,

"Are you afraid of me?

Well, you should be afraid. People like me are no different from the scum of society. I just have an extra monkey suit."

The second scene happened on the day when Violet had dinner with Faye and others before Violet left Cocanel.

Ethan asked Violet,

"Violet, do you want to have a relationship with a jerk like me?"

After these two scenes flashed through Violet's mind, she began to think about what Ethan had just said.

He said, "Violet, I'm not as undesirable as I'm told. If you're willing to love me, I can be better for you."

Violet's fingers by her side slightly curled. Some emotion seemed to be spreading through her chest, but for a moment she was not sure what it was.

After a long pause, Violet clenched her hands and said, "Ethan."

Ethan's voice was husky. "Are you going to turn me down?"

She compressed her lips. Her heart beat a little faster, but she chose to follow her heart. "I'm not looking for a relationship right now."

When Ethan heard that, his narrow eyes drooped a little. He looked a little upset. "I understand."

When she saw his face, her heart suddenly tightened. "I'm sorry. I..."

"It's okay."

Violet was lost for words.

After half a minute or so, he said in a deep voice, "I'm sorry for bugging you during this time."

She compressed her lips. "It's alright."

Ethan, "No, I don't. I only have a feeling that you don't care how I feel."

Colin, "You didn't get it."

Ethan bit his cigarette and laughed out loud. "Fuck off."

When Colin got the last text from Ethan, he and Faye had just returned to the hotel.

Colin chuckled and didn't text back. He put the phone into his pocket. Colin's and Faye's fingers remained entwined. He pinched the tip of her fingers. "Honey, do you want to hang out?"

Faye looked up. "You do?"

"How about a drink?"

Faye smiled. She was about to answer him when the phone he had just put in his pocket rang.

They looked at each other. Colin raised his eyebrows lightly and took out his phone. The call was from Andy. Colin pressed the answer button. "Shoot."

Andy said, "Mr. Farrell, Lance hit Brandon and Brandon got hurt."
