Chapter 8
I woke up in a pack house I had never seen before.
Damien sat by the bed, calmly watching me.
Around his neck was the moonlight veil scarf I had once painstakingly woven for him back then, clashing oddly with his high-end tailored clothes.
When he saw I was awake, he looked at me, his voice a little hoarse, “You’re awake. Are you hungry?”
I looked at him. “How did you get here?”
He sighed softly and gently stroked my head. “If I want to find you, there’s always a way.”
I nervously shrank back. “Why do you have to find me? Are you trying to torture me?”
He was momentarily stunned when he saw me flinch, then furrowed his brows. “Why would you think that? Have I ever
been rough with you?”
“If that’s the case, then let me go.”
“Don’t even think about it.”
He pulled me into his arms. “From now on, I won’t let you go anywhere.”
From that day on, Damien imprisoned me in this pack house.
To resist him, I stopped eating and drinking.
When he heard about it, he sat with a plate in front of me and said, “I know I’ve wronged you, but you can’t hurt yourself.”
Throughout it all, I only said one sentence, “I want to leave.”
“Leave? Where would you go?”
“I would go to a place without you.”
“Why?” he asked.
“I could make you the Luna of the Silvermoon Pack, I could love you forever.”
I sneered, “Love me forever? When did you ever love me? I don’t even know.”
Damien couldn’t answer. He probably didn’t even know when he’d fallen for me.
Maybe it was every night when he came home late from pack business and found me sitting on the sofa reading while
waiting for him, gently asking, “Are you tired?”
Maybe it was when I looked at him with eyes full of love, and even though he wanted to kiss me, he restrained himself because of his promise to Ella, giving me only a hug instead.
Or maybe it was when Ella suggested Ryan join the prank, and he hesitated, unwilling to see me intimate with another

man.
By the time he realized it was love, he was already deeply in it.
So when he found out Ryan had actually slept with me, he exploded.
At the mating ceremony, ignoring every guest, his Alpha status, and everything else, he attacked his twin brother with his
own hands.
He grabbed Ryan’s throat fiercely, wishing to kill him.
His golden eyes suggested that he was about to shift, and he roared, “Who the hell gave you permission to sleep with
her?”
Faced with his affectionate confession at that moment, all I wanted was to sneer coldly.
Damien closed his eyes, lips trembling as he asked, “Or is it that you’ve fallen for Ryan?”
I looked at him coldly. “Does it matter? You’re both disgusting bastards.”
He seemed hurt by my words and fell silent for a long time.
When he finally spoke, his voice was hoarse,
“Tessa, I actually want to complete this mating ceremony with you.”
“That day, I warned Ryan not to do whatever as Ella asked or say anything to you. After the mating ceremony, I won’t let
him near you again.”
I sneered, “You were pretty generous sending me to Ryan’s bed.”
His face went pale. “I never meant that. I never let him sleep with you. That was our rule. I didn’t know he would do that.”
“I know you’re hurting and feeling wronged.”
“Don’t worry. I’ll arrange for the best pack doctors and caregivers to make sure you suffer no pain while getting rid of this
pup.”
“I won’t let Ella bully you anymore. I’ve already taught her a harsh lesson.”
“I’ll make it up to you with everything I have.”
“From now on, pretend none of this ever happened. Whatever you want, I’ll give you.”
Suddenly, I raised my hand and slapped him hard across the face.
“Shut up.”
“You think I can just forget and move on just as you expect? Nothing’s that easy.”
Damien turned his face slightly from the slap.
He wiped the blood from the corner of his mouth. “Do you feel better? If not, go ahead. Hit me again.”
