Chapter 18
Even though biologically he’s not your son you still act as if you’re his mother, Gesibelle spoke to me through the mind
link.
I know I can’t help but feel as if I am his mother especially with my wolf feeling so protective of him, I answered.
I couldn’t help but wonder why my wolf felt this way.
You will understand in time but for know I am happy with my pup beside me.
That still didn’t answer the questions my question why did my wolf have to be so aloof. What would happen when his real parents realised where he was and took him away.
I am not aloof he is the pup of what is ours so he belongs to us no one is taking him away from us.
I couldn’t help but agree with my wolf I was growing very attached to this little boy and couldn’t think of letting him go my wolf growled in agreement.
I saw that Kevin had eaten and was leaning against me his eyes closing I lifted him up and walked to wards the stairs through the living room. I saw the curious eyes of my pack and before rumours could spread i decided to sort it out straight away.
Everyone we will be having a pack meeting tomorrow morning at 9am to discuss certain issues that have come to light. Also new dangers that we might face we have lost a great pack member today and he must be remembered.
We will be discussing the funeral arrangements tomorrow also everyone please be there for James mate and child. We have been through much as a pack we must not let this bring us down we are to strong for that we must celebrate the life
James lived not mourn it.
I tried to make my voice sound strong and by the looks of determination and strength that passed across their faces it
seemed to have worked.
I walked towards my room to put Kevin to bed there was nowhere else for him to sleep and my wolf and I wanted to keep him close. I pulled the covers down and put him on the bed I was going to let go and leave but he stopped me.
“Mummy will you stay with me pease” I felt happiness swell in my heart that he wanted me to stay with him. I cuddled up with him and hummed a lullaby to put him to sleep.
As soon as he fell asleep I got out of bed and walked to my office were I had been pacing for the past few hours with
Drew and Mick with me.
“He said his daddy was the boss but of what and why would hunters and rouges bother to kidnap a child. The only thing I
can think of is to use him as leverage we need to find out who his father is.” I said hurriedly.
I knew that I didn’t want to let Kevin go but his father was probably worried sick about him. I couldn’t keep Kevin away
from him as much as I never wanted to let him go he didn’t belong to me.
My wolf growled in my head showing her disagreement of my thoughts.
He is ours, ours.
I sighed “ok let’s talk about other business I want to set up a meeting with Silver shadow pack’s alpha”.
“Why would you want to do that?” Drew asked confused.
“We just took their title as the strongest pack I don’t want any hostility between us it’s better to be allies then enemies. Especially with the hunters and rouges growing stronger. I don’t want them to think we purposely tried to take their title
from them I don’t want there to be any resentment.
“That’s a good idea especially if we need help in the future “Mick said understanding my logic.
“Ok Drew go make the call and tell them to visit us here so we can make an alliance” Drew nodded and walked out.
“Leila I think we should put finding Kevin’s parents to the side until we deal with this rouge situation”.
“I think your right Mick the safety of the pack comes first I’m sure he’ll be fine living with us for a little while” I answered.
