Chapter 36: Chapter 36 This Development Doesn’t Seem Quite Right
Chi Gui fell silent for a moment, then encouraged, “Keep it up.”
Su Niannian was very enthusiastic and spent the whole class immersed in composing music.
Even though it was a mentally taxing task, her face beamed with joy.
At noon, Su Niannian pulled a loaf of bread directly from her backpack, “Sister Chi, I’m not going to have lunch. I just had an inspiration and need to write it down immediately.”
Before she finished speaking, she swiftly grabbed a pen and began to jot down notes.
Chi Gui also happened to be going to “Wait for You” to buy some stuff. After instructing Xing Gu to have someone deliver lunch to Su Niannian, she slung her bag over her shoulder and left the school.
...
Inside the “Wait for You” store.
Fu Si was reclining beside the floor-to-ceiling windows on a lounger, one arm hanging over the edge of the chair, a deep and long wound on his pale, slim forearm, still oozing blood.
Yet, he seemed completely oblivious to the pain, holding his phone in his other hand and sending messages, his stunning face a cold mask. Under the gold-framed glasses, his phoenix eyes were deep and black, exuding an almost bloodthirsty ferocity.
“Mr. Fu, I’m very sorry, we were negligent!” Qin Cheng approached with a medical kit, full of anxiety.
The recent car accident was clearly premeditated. If not for Mr. Fu’s quick reaction, the consequences would have been unthinkable!
“Heh,” Fu Si chuckled, his usually pleasant voice lowering ominously, “It seems I’ve been too lenient lately, allowing every clown to jump out.”
He lightly touched the prayer beads on his wrist, “Did you catch them?”
“We did.” Qin Cheng didn’t dare to speak an unnecessary word.
Fu Si curled his lips, the lenses of his glasses reflecting the light from the window, sinister and cold, “Tell the guys below, to make sure to take good care of…”
Just then, Chi Gui entered from outside and turned to look in his direction.
The girl wore a simple white tee and jeans, her apricot eyes shining brightly beneath her bangs, her calm and serene demeanor, as if she could cleanse people’s hearts.
