Madeline Crawford and Jeremy Whitman novel Chapter 2169

"And you!"

Maisie pointed at Bill without showing him any signs of respect.

"You knew she was plagiarizing Ava’s work but you chose to turn a blind eye. You're obviously keeping her as your secret lover!"

The sweat on Bill’s forehead increased as he did not expect Maisie to directly accuse him.

"T-That’s not it."

Bill tried to explain himself as he did not dare to offend Maisie anymore.

However, he did not know what he could say.

"If that’s not it, then what exactly is going on?" Mr.Lowe suddenly spoke.

When Mr.Lowe said that, Bill was even more sure there was something unusual going on between him and Maisie.

He could tell that his boss was siding with Maisie.

Bill lifted his hand to wipe away the sweat on his forehead and stammered, "M-My eyesight is not good, so I might have missed it as I was not paying attention. Also, look, there are some differences in these two designs..."

"Do you need to quibble over these small differences?"

Maisie lifted her beautiful eyebrows and peered at Laura, who looked like she was at a loss.

"Bill, why don’t you explain why you’re protecting this thief who stole other people’s designs?"

"You..."

Bill did not have anything to say about that.

However, Laura could not stand this anymore.

"Maisie! How could you call me a thief? We're all interior designers, and it’s common to occasionally have similar designs. You’re making something out of nothing. You're slandering my reputation in front of everyone in the department.I want you to apologize t o me right now.If you don’t, I'll sue you for defamation."

"Alright, do it then.Sue me for defamation and I’ll sue you for plagiarism. We’ll see who gets charged then."

The group of employees was at a loss.

Mr.Lowe did not stay too long either.

His stern eyes scanned Bill who looked extremely nervous before he said coldly, "Come to my office tomorrow morning and explain everything to me."

"y-Yes, Sir,"

Bill replied and then walked Mr.Lowe out in a flattering manner.

The other female employees did not stay as well.

Now, only Bill and Laura were left in the private room.

Laura kicked the chair in front of her and sat down in a huff.

"F*ck! I finally found a chance to get rid of Ava and take her position.I didn’t expect Maisie to barge in and ruin this whole thing!" Laura complained while feeling extremely pissed
