Chapter 991
“Mr. Winters wants me to be his secretary.”
Adeena pursed her lips.
She knew the meaning behind the request, so she believed that Kendry would too.
She wanted to know what the Willis family thought about
Kendry paused for a while.
The moment he saw his foster daughter‘s gaze, he understood her intention of telling him everything.
She was trying to see if the Willis family was worthy of her sacrifice.
“Deena, you‘re our foster daughter. You‘re also Ms. Willis like Ruth. Pushing our daughters out for honor is something the Willis family won‘t do.” Kendry sighed.“ We‘ll go back and discuss this with your grandma. There has to be another solution.”
“I‘ll do it!” Ruth suddenly said. “I can be Mr. Winters‘ secretary.”
“Stop talking nonsense!” Kendry said coldly.
“I‘m serious!” Ruth anxiously replied. “Deena‘s adopted, so we naturally can‘t let her make such a huge sacrifice.
“Dad, don‘t stop me!” Ruth quickly caught up to Adeena. “Deena, hurry up and tell me what you discussed with Mr. Winters.”
Adeena got into the back passenger seat, while Ruth quickly hopped into the car as well. She kept hounding Adeena with questions.
“After he drugged you, did he do anything over the top?” Adeena faked a smile. “You seem to be very concerned about Mr. Winters and me.”
“Deena, he must have had bad intentions when he asked you to be his secretary.” There was a glint in Ruth‘s eyes. “You‘re so pretty, so it‘s devastating for you to be with a divorced man with kids. But I‘m different. I’m a member of the Willis family, so it‘s nothing for me to sacrifice for my family‘s sake. Let me be Mr. Winters‘ secretary for you.”
Adeena was at a loss for words.
