Love That Wasn't Meant to Last novel Chapter 65

I opened my door. After making sure that Sylvia's door was closed, I hurried downstairs and went back to the hospital.

Before I Ieft, I stood in front of the door of Sylvia's room, feeling conflicted.

What exactly should I do so that me and Sylvia could go back to where we were before?

When I got back to the hospital, I spotted Selena still working on her laptop. When she noticed me, she closed it, walked over, and wrapped her arms around my waist like we hadn't seen each other in ages.

"Where have you been these past couple of days? Why didn't I see you here at the hospital?"

I thought of pulling her hands away, but after a moment's thought, I didn't do it.

If Selena wanted to hold onto me, so be it. It wasn't like she was going to do anything bad to me.

"Nothing. I just had some issues to handle at work. I got so caught up I forgot to mention it to you." I quickly came up with an excuse.

When she heard I had been working, she looked up and pursed her lips, looking slightly upset.

"Hudson, quit your job and come back to Blue Charm. I can offer you a higher position and higher pay. I promise your role will be better than the one you have now. You wouldn't even have to show up every day if you don't want to."

I never thought Selena would suggest something like this. She had never mentioned anything related to work before. We had always stayed in our respective companies, managing our own work without interfering with each other's work.

I didn't know how Zion had managed to keep my current job in order, but since I hadn't received a termination notice, I figured he had done a decent job. Thus, I wasn't too worried about it.
