Selena's attitude toward Zion had always been inconsistent. Sometimes, she treated Zion like a servant, taking out her frustrations on him and not showing any sign of affection for him.
Zion took a deep breath and gave a cold look. "What do you know?"
He sounded defensive, then added, "Selena's sick right now. She only needs you temporarily. Once she's better, I know she'll realize that I'm the one who truly cares for her."
Honestly, I didn't care who Selena liked, as long as it wasn't me.
But the main issue now was figuring out a way to get Sylvia out of the picture.
"Zion, can you do me a favor? Can you check how many days of leave Sylvia took to come here?"
Without a word, he picked up his phone and made the call.
Meanwhile, I messaged my assistant to get some information on Sylvia's situation.
"Mr. Dawson, Sylvia has been transferred to Adenville. Starting next month, she'll be appointed as a director at the main office."
I stared at the message, my eyes widening in disbelief.
So Sylvia was moving to Adenville for work? Why hadn't she mentioned any of this since she arrived, not even at the train station? Was she planning some other "surprise" for me?
I was completely in the dark. I saw Zion hang up, looking at me angrily as he asked, "Hudson, is your girlfriend here to cause trouble? What's the point of leaving her position in Carzonia just to work here in Adenville?"
His comment made my head spin.
I recalled Sylvia's words at the station. "I'm back in Adenville again." Now, I finally understood what she meant.
Zion also scratched his head, being frustrated at what he had heard.
